Midol endorsements in the offing for Kobe?

    "Don't anger Kobe or else...."
"It won't help you trying to get Kobe angry, because he uses Midol with its proven formula......"

Sasha: "When i see my buddy Kobe getting angry, i just offer him one of my Midols. (Derek Fisher enters room). "Hey Sasha, I left mine in my Gucci bag, how about giving me one of those too?!"

Voiceover: "Midol, why you don't want to anger up the Lakers."

Kobe's a great player. I actually do enjoy watching him when not against the Spurs. But my problem with him is that he's great when the team plays well, but he just as easily throws them under the bus if things aren't going well. A real player sees his team through the good and the bad. You should never throw your teammates under the bus like has has in the past. And you don't go around saying things like "My guys knock down shots now" etc. His quotes about his teammates these days always have a sense of en lement to it and ownership, as if he's solely responsible for them playing above average. But if I remember reading correctly, guys like Farmar have been working hard on their game to be great playing in the D League and stuff. Bynum even has been practicing with a HOF'er to up his game. He has Fischer mentoring the young guys like Vuijic and pulling them together. I don't think Kobe has made these players better. His willingness now to pass the ball more to them and trust them has allowed them to showcase their talent.
Well...he didnt make them better when he was 7th place...and he didnt make them better when thier in 1st place. Believe me, in YOUR EYES, he will never make his teamates better.

"My guys knock down shots now"..holy crap..Kobe threw his teamates under the bus...thats the most horrible quote someone has ever said about teammates......news flash!! Breaking news!

The last two times the Spurs played Denver in the first round, they lost game 1 at home, once against Denver without Iverson.
True, but people in L.A are acting like it was the .

    Which is not

"Better learn not to talk to me," Bryant said of Smith's jabbering. "You shake the tree, a leopard's gonna fall out."
That's gotta be one of the best quotes of the year.

The Lakers are on a mission! Most Lakers fans can see that and are excited of the possibilities this season. We know we still have to play the game.

I dont think any two guys have more respect for each other than Kobe Bean Byrant and Bruce Bowen... theyve been going at it since the beginning of the millenium... and one reason im a big Kobe fan is that he is one guy who has never ed like a little girl (ala Ray Allen Vince Carter Steve Nash) about Bowens aggressive style of play... and thats all it is, ultra aggressive defense. Kobe took the challenge like a man, even after Bowen held him in check a couple times.... Kobe gave Bruce his credit and if he had a bad game one night.. he would come back the next game in the series and go at Bruce again without crying.

All great points, especially that Fish is available to mentor the young guys...because I don't believe Kobe does that stuff. Lakers are very fortunate to have Fish back in the fold, imo. And the fact that Bynum is being mentored by the best in the business and appears to be almost a separate en y from the organization says oodles about the Kobe-led team, if you ask me. Maybe Lakers fans should be concerned about that.

The only thing I disagree with you about is that Kobe is portraying en lement by calling his team "my guys". When I read that it made me think of Kobe-as-leader, which he seems to be taking responsibility for finally. It's true that he shouldn't throw his guys under the bus (and he could take a page out of Spurs' history on that account, me thinks) but when he refers to them as his own I actually think it's a good thing, that is until he reverts to dogging them again. I'm just trying to see past Kobe's immature personna for encouraging tidbits. Kobe's teammates have maybe earned Kobe's trust on the court finally, but I would bet that Kobe's teammates don't give him the time of day off the court.
