that ultimately ended with the same result of over 50 other teams in NBA history.
A championship? 50 teams won a NBA le. I know one team that is not included in the bull 50 teams that you claim.

Somehow, sweeping an 8 seed just isn't as noteworthy.
Good justification for Celtic and Piston fans. Monumental for the sweep-worthy #7 Sixers and #8 Hawks.

Laker fans need to wake up and realize that any of these teams have pretty much equal chance of winning the championship:
    Spurs
    Celtics
    Pistons
    Lakers

and not too far off are Utah and NO. and IF Suns would come back and beat Spurs they would also have as much chance.

face it lakefans there is no clear favorite this year
correct. there's too much hype going on in LA. last night you could clearly see the nuggets were such a crap that it was pathetic. if the lakers were so good they should have blow that team out of their own building. It was like denver itself wanted to commit suicide.

    Well, you fail.

Actually, it was 15-1. The 1st round didn't expand to 7 games until 2004.
Impressive enough record, but at least get your facts straight.

Actually quite a few teams. Including teams that have swept opponents in the first round. First round sweeps don't mean . Sweeps don't mean , period, without a le.

The Nuggets looked out of sync and in disarray BECAUSE of what the Lakers did to them. Packing in the paint, tilting the defense towards Melo on his ISO's, subtle defensive moves to disrupt their flow on offense. Over the course of the series Phil keyed in the Laker D to completely take away what DEN wanted to do.

DEN is the highest scoring team in the league and the Lakers held them to well under their average. They also won 50 games this year and had a 33-8 home record. Lakers straight swept them and only the final game was even close, the rest were blowout wins. All this without Turiaf, Ariza, and Bynum......if the Lakers can get those 3 guys back at some point in the playoffs they will be even stronger than they are now. My point is this...if the Lakers can do this to a team when they don't even have 3 quality defensive rotation players imagine how much worse it's going to be when those guys eventually get back.
