I was thinking that myself.Manu just made the Allstar team tonight.
Let's not go overboard. Gervin had 60+ games of 40 or more.Manu has just had one of the top ten games in Spurs history
That was awesome Kori, but with Nash coming back and with TP and BOwen sucking on offense and being down 17 on the road in the 4th....this is the most improbable win that I have ever seen for MY team....and no TMac.![]()

It's not just the points but how important those points are, I think there is a big difference between 40+ points against the second best team in the league in a win where you were down by I believe ninteen at one point early in the fourth, and say blowing out the Bobcats at home by thirty....
It's definitely in the top 5 Spurs games that I have seen, going back to 81-82.
And Manu's performance tonight ranks up there among the best individual performances in team history.
And I say that not just because of how many points Manu scored, but the team, the game, and the situation in which he scored them...this was huge performance in a big game and Manu willed this team to a win.
75% of this game was Manu VS Amare and Nash...and he held his own against the both of them...
Anyone that doesn't think Manu is a franchise 2 guard, just doesn't know what a franchise player looks like...he's a franchise player, he's also a guy that is willing to be, and can be, a highly skilled role player. There aren't a lot of Manu's playing pro basketball in the world, period...Recognize it, lest you join the rest of those he has made fools of.
Yes, but given the cir stances and who we were playing on the road( 2nd best team) on national tv....this has to be top 10.....
What so damn wonderful is the HUGE BRASS BALLS the Spurs showed, to come back from such a huge deficit, to not get down after the buzzer beater, and then just calmly hammer the coffin shut in the OT.
Amazingly balanced, monstrous contributions from so many players, and coaching by Pop.
I think the NBA knows the le belongs to the Spurs, it's theirs to lose.
Manu went crazy, I HOPE PEOPLE WATCHED THIS GAME AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!!
VOTE MANU FOR ALL STARS!!!!!!!, he proved that he is an all star
Agreed, the context of this game, Nash coming back and playing great, Suns really didn't give anything away, they gave a great effort, and got beat fair and square by a superior effort from a superior team.
For once we are in agreement.![]()
I am not erasing this tape of this game.
I am so glad I did not go to bed like I was tempted to do.![]()
Lets not forget Barry's threes in crunch time.
I already addressed that in a thread to Brent.
best win of tghe year so far
because it was on the road
and the spurs lose on the road this year
hopefully this will help the spurs not to lose on road anymore
Manu has 1 40+ game in the reg season and he's automatically an All-star...man, give you head a shake....put a few of those more games in succession and maybe..
Manu's the only reason I watch the spurs....but All-star... Jrich had 40+ this year...no ones talking to him about being an all-star.
STFU.
Manu is an all-star.
Clearly more exciting than Nash.
1 game....damn...my boy Chucky Atkins is averaging 22 and 9 over the last 5 games...is he an allstar... no
Is he exciting....
Yes he is averaging that but, how does he get his points....
My fav regular season game will always be the one when Mario was blowing kisses at the Rocket bench the whole second half when he erased H-Town's 23 point lead. The Utah game where Tim posterized Osterfat is my #2, and I give this one #3 all-time.
I like this game a lot, cause the guys played with a sense of urgency and a never say die at ude I truly believe they never felt they were out of it, at least, I couldn't sense it in their play, they kept coming back, I'll admit I gave up on them when Tim turned it over and it went from 94 -90 to 99-90 with some 5 mins left but they didn't.
The only other game that I can think of that excited me as much was the win in Milwaukee in 03, which was the game when I knew they were a special team. I remember Cassell hitting a 3 to give them a 5 pt. lead with a little over a min left and during the time out Bowen kicked a chair, TD and Tony looked pissed and then they came back and beat the Bucks for the first time in a long time, they had lost like 6 in row to those guys. I liked even more cause the Bucks acted like they had just won the championship hugging each other and high fiving like they had just won something, and the Spurs came back and beat them. This game reminds of that game. They found a way, and defense started it all.
That whole weekend in 99 rocked the house. It was a Sat/Sun roadie B2B against Utah and Portland, both games nationally televised. Unfortunately for Tim, the MVP ballots were due the previous Wednesday, and even though he thoroughly punked Evil, the die had been cast, and Tim lost the MVP that year. The effect of that weekend was the number one regular season high for me. I thought that would never be equaled, but if SA goes into Sacto and takes one Sunday...I dunno. The Utah game where Tim posterized Osterfat is my #2
My favorite is the Spurs comiing from double digits at home, and Stephen Jackson blwoing the crap out of the Lakers in 02 03. (also the night of SOMEONE winning the dodge drop in the bucket)
this one ranks in the top 5.
Man would I hate to be a Suns fan after that......
Gotta admit I gave up in the 3rd and also turned it back on in the fourth. One of the greatest games in Spurs History for sure. Ginobili's dunk was a jaw dropper. And thank goodness for Brent Barry's two big 3's.
people probably said that about us after the Rockets game where Mcgrady had 13 in 35.
True.
Or, when Fisher hit that 0.4 shot.
The Fisher shot was much worse.
