I don't know if game 1 required a believe thread...I do however agree that the Hornets are not just some mere stepping stone on our way to another NBA le....they are at least a shaky stone.


Your points about David West and his bad games against us have some merit...but I'll point out that Oberto was primarily responsible for one of those bad games and now everyone is saying the Spurs have no one that can guard him one on one.

Was this a matter of him having an off night or was it the Spurs defense?? Because if it was the Spurs defense, then why the heck couldn't they adjust and do whatever they did in those wins in the 2nd half against West??

Same defense. They individuals did a bit of a better job .. but it was more that West didn't hit everything from all angles. West was basically just damn good in Game 1.

If I'm the Spurs, I start out the same way. But Pop should also have a Plan B that he puts into action if West again is going off. Plan B could be anything from double-teams to putting Udoka or even Duncan on him.

i still think San Antonio has a shot. as bad as the score indicated the game was, those who actually watched the game saw that they were in it up until the end of the 4th. i think they will make a heroic effort, but will ultimately go down in seven, because the Hornets are the better team, and the fact that they are a really bad matchup for the Spurs defensively. the intimidation factor is no longer there in my opinion

I'm convinced that a huge factor in this series grows out of the fact that I won't be attending any more road games! I've now been to 6 Spurs road playoff games over the last 6 playoff seasons and the Spurs are 0-6 in those games. With my bad karma out of the way, things look much, much rosier for the Evil Empire.

Thanks, for this thread, timvp. While I agree that it is early to bring this out, especially for true Spurs fans, I do think that some people needed a little reminder of who we are!
