This study isn't about the benefits of smoking marijuana. It's about the benefits of an active ingredient in marijuana, cannabiniods. I'm sure it's possible to extract these cannabiniods other than by means of smoking. Really, the majority of carcinogens in marijuana come from the stems and seeds. The active ingredient, THC, isn't harmful when taken appropriately. There is a pill form of THC available called Merinol. THC has many positive benefits. Unfortunately, marijuana has shown a tendency to be easily abused and the increasing trend of polysubstance abuse.
