I think they'll pick Rose, but they don't need him. If Paxon pulls a deal out of his ass to get more experience on their team they could use the #1 to thier advantage.

I think they have to get a coach first before they can make this selection. Rose is the hometown boy, which is a big draw and he is really talented.

Hinrich tanked this year, so can he move to a backup role and/or become a SG?

Beasley would be a great choice for them, but then they need a coach who could manage a lot of emotional young guys out there. How soon until the first Noah/Beasley fight in practice? Ben Gordon will still want the ball in crunch time, but they might feed Beasley instead...

A lot of it I think will hinge on the new coach, his style, and his ability to play mediator, which obviously Skiles and Boylan were not able to do.

look back at the players who have let go

brand, chandler, curry, artest, crawford, robinson.....
Brand's the only decent player out of that group. Chandler was a huge bust until he had Chris Paul giftwrapping alley-oops to him. Curry is dog . Artest completely destroyed a likely Finals team in Indy. Crawford is a dime-a-dozen shooting guard trapped in a point guard's body. Robinson? Do you mean Eddie Robinson? That guy turned out to be a bust after leaving Charlotte.

Beasley, and everyone else on the Bulls is very expendable. I'd bet that they take Rose, though.

I wonder where Marion will end up after the Heat draft Beasley and hand Marion a ticket out of Miami.

The Bulls would probably take that deal.

Deng has plateaued, and not very high.

    Rose
    Hinrich
    Thomas/Sefolosha/Nocioni
    Stoudemire
    Noah

    is a pretty decent roster.
Kirk hinrich is not a good point guard... and now youre placing him on SG??

Hinrich tanked this year, so can he move to a backup role and/or become a SG?
Hinrich has played a lot at shooting guard in the past - basically any time that he and Ben Gordon were on the floor together, he was off the ball. And if he can put up the numbers he did the year before last (16 PPG, 45%+, 40%+ from downtown, basically Joe Dumars production) he'll be just fine at the 2.
Ben Gordon will still want the ball in crunch time, but they might feed Beasley instead...
A perfect excuse to get rid of Gordon once and for all.

If they dont draft rose they would be stupid as . I am sure they could trade hinrich for an expiring and a draft pick between 10-25

Any chance the Heat take O.J. Mayo if the Bulls select Rose, as Chad Ford is suggesting?

I think the Heat are banking on netting Brand via FA, so filling the PG or SG spot with Mayo makes some sense. He is the most ready-made wing prospect, even more ready than Rose, so he'll help them immensly pretty much from day one. I don't know if Miami can sign Brand to more than the MLE if they keep Marion, but if they can that would be pretty incredible.
