Lakers BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Celtics are dead meat!
No i'm not over it. I still refuse to watch the Finals and re-watch the Spurs championship special edition dvds :|
Im over it. Cant wait till the draft! Please dont dissapoint us RC!
For all those in the thread (myself included) who said they were over it within a day or two...there will be plenty of relapses, come Thursday...GUARANSHEED
I got over it this past weekend...still hurts though. I have directed my anger into rooting for the Celtics though, I don't want to see Kobe, Phil or that classless bas Vujicac win a ing thing...
I am over it and you have lost it. We deserved to lose that series. I hate everyone making excuses. It makes us look bad. We lost, stop acting like a little spoiled kid.
I'll be over it only if Bird and Magic play; oh well, I guess we'll get to see them during the 2 hour pregame ceremony........![]()
OUCH. This is supposed to be a make me feel better thread, not a flame the originator thread. I'm 42, and I'm not trying to make excuses(although I am spoiled with 4 championship after years of heartbreak). If you suffered the pain of spurs disappointments in late 70's, 80's, and early-mid 90's, I think I know about getting over it.
I don't know exactly why it's bothering me so much, again being in boston, all the media is acting like they(celts) and the lakers were en led to get to this championship series. THAT.
I am paranoid/conspiracy theorist, etc... and this really smells
Anyway, I was hoping this thread would give me some peace of mind, maybe I do need to get some help...
I'm over this one alot easier than last time due to the fact of how we went out. With a healthy Manu we probably win that series. That series against Dallas was the worst because it was because of a bonehead play that we were not finally winning back to back championships. You couldn't really do anything about Manu being hurt.
He is a Laker Troll, don't get all upset
thanks?
I'm over it in a sense. I'm trying to look forward, not backward.
I won't escape the championship coverage since I live in LA. It would be easier to ignore if I lived in another area like SD or Northern California. But I've been tuning out so far.
It will end when the the championship is over...then life will be a be a bore until nfl preseason camps open....Go DOLPHINS!!!![]()
They may suck but that's my team.
That game always crossed my mind after watching the Spurs blow leads during the playoffs.
I was in Vegas when we got knocked out, but I won $88 on the slots that night, and anothert $40 the following day (I just put one dollar in the machine and BOOM! Instant cash!!!), so I never really felt that binge of depression after the loss. Man, am I pissed I had to go back today. I was on a roll too...
So to answer your question, I've gotten over the Spurs loss, but not leaving Vegas.
I was over it, then I saw this thread
Thank you![]()
I got over it the same day they lost the series. It was tough, but they still fought. Plus, it doesn't hurt that much to watch the Champ DVDs
It was hard to believe we won again last year so this one was easy to get over.
I was over it within the hour. I always look forward to the draft greatly. The draft is probably my favorite time of the basketball year.
2006 was tougher for me:
1) SA lost to DALLAS of all teams (and they were clearly the better team in that series which at the time scared the out of me moving forward).
2) SA lost to a team coached by a former Spurs icon in Avery Johnson...oh the irony.
3) SA lost in SA
4) SA kept making you think they were going to come back and take the series only to fall apart and make poor decisions down the stretch.
5) SA lost to a finess offensive team who's primary threat wasn't a dynamic slasher nor a dominating force in the post....he was a pure jump shooter, and I nearly crapped my pants everytime the ball left his finger tips.
Even though this one will sting until the NFL and new NBA season come around (Go Seahawks...I hate the Giants) the Dallas series left a more bitter taste in my mouth.
Still pissed off about it. Dont like to think to much about it. All and all though the Playoffs were great for us considering our team wasn't entirely great this year. I wont be watching the Finals though.. the real Champs are not playing in it. Next year is an odd year...
I think I'm over it, but there's some bitter taste left. I took it more calmly than 2006 and 2004, though, for some reason. But it still sucks that I won't be seeing them for a long time and I'll have to hear about the Celtics and Lakers for the next couple of months. Detroit winning the East would have lessened it a bit, but it wasn't in the script.
i live in LA, im not gonna be over this until the laker fan stfu.
