This is only my gut instinct, but I think the US is just too hot for any AQ operations of that magnitude. I agree with the plausibility of your worst case scenario, and while unlikely, I think that scenario is exactly where our intelligence has to get. We have to assume that that scenario is EXACTLY what they will try. No less. We can't get complacent. Cannot let ourselves into a false sense of security.

Even though we are all on the same page to be sure, I'm a little more on the optimistic side of the terror ledger. Our progess has been steady. We're taking hits abroad, and will most likely take hits at home, but my own personal prediction is that we just grind out terrorism through doing exactly what we're doing. Standing up. Not bailing out. Getting leverage on the previously mentioned countries, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia. The ball is definitely in our court.

Personally, I think we have a "scorched earth" policy towards any nuclear detonation on our soil and that we've made that known -- through diplomatic channels -- to the various benefactor countries of al Qaeda and other such organizations so disposed.

If a WMD is used on our soil, more than one nation will become uninhabitable.

I know it's going down a dangerous path, but I'd hope that we've made it known that any WMD attack on our soil will result in the end of life in any geographic area that Muslims exist.

The only way to combat against a Hiroshima on our soil is to ensure Osama knows it will be coming for him and his people as well. Basically bringing back the MAD policy the only way Osama will understand it - extinction of his race.

hopefully by then the repeal of federal taxes for those with incomes of over $1 mil and assets over $15 mil will show those arabs just who they are ing with.
