Team USA Update: Who Will Make The Beijing Roster?

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic. Yes, to me he is soft. To me, he's the reason why the Jazz lost that series against L.A. All the Jazz needed was some consistent interior scoring. That's his job since he's getting paid that kind of money. He was invisible on offense and exposed on defense, I felt bad watching it.

I'm an on the record Tim Duncan hater, but damn if I don't repect the out him.

I was watching one of the Spurs/NO games a few weeks back and there was this play where David West was trying to post TD up and it just wasn't happening. I might he might as well have been trying to take it in against a thirty foot high brick wall. I mean, Duncan just wasn't having it. West got scared put up a hook that missed badly and TD boxed like two people out and just gobbled up the rebound.

The day before, I watched Boozer get eaten alive by Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. That was after he spent the better part of two weeks getting eaten alive by Carl Landry and Luis Scola. There's one play that really stands out- Boozer got scared of Odom and instead of going up strong, he tried to do some lame, weak reverse layup off the glass that never had a chance. Then I watched Paul Millsap jump 15 ft. high grab the rebound, come down with it, absorb contact from about three guys, hit an extra guy on the way up for good measure and then make possibly the toughest and most hardnosed shot on earth. Pretty striking difference beween a supposed All-Star and second year role player, no?

When I saw Duncan do what he was doing in that one play and then contrasted it with what Boozer did in his one play, that's about the time I turned on Boozer for good. I can forgive a guy not being talented enough to be a superstar, I can deal with a guy having a freakishly bum hamstring for a whole year. I can deal with limitation, but what I can't accept is a guy who wears the mantle of a superstar, refuse to be physical on offense. I can't deal with a guy who claims to be a superstar and a team leader not even try on defense. I can't deal with a guy who shrinks from good compe ion, hard play and physical effort like a pussy, scared, chump, . Carlos Boozer.

Besides Michael Redd and maybe Kobe, does anyone else see a lack of really good 3 pt shooters on this team. The reason TEAM USA lost before was because of bad outside shooting when the FIBA teams packed the paint with a tight zone.
