Fun game to watch, except that we don't look anything like an elite team anymore.
i don't give a if we're elite. as long as we're contenders, i'm happy. spurs almost always fly under the radar, and no one ever gives them a chance.
that being said, the lack of a second presence in the paint besides Tim is our Achilles heel. we know it. the FO knows it. the other coaches know it. what the is the FO going to do about it?
Fun game to watch, except that we don't look anything like an elite team anymore.
Refs are paying the Chargers back for that bad call in week 1
how sweet
Wow, how predictable is that.
God Charger fans are some of the worst winners I've ever seen.
Dude stop been a homer for once.
That is a real posibility. Regardless of how the Spurs are playing now vs the all star break it doesn't make a difference because NEWS Flash: I dont remember the Spurs playing this horrible in years.
Now before you come and say the Spurs do this every year, let me tell you they do it but not as often as they're doing it this year. Plus against the possible worse teams in the NBA.
at the 'fan' who constantly wusses out on the Spurs having the gall to pull the 'homer' card.
true it should be a win against a team the Spurs are expected to beat, but don't discount wins like this in regards to their team psyche. I doubt that they really feel that they are running on all cylinders. These kinds of wins give them confidence during a time of inconsistency.

and I'm not a chargers fan if you're implying that, TPark
unfortunately I'm a Bills fan lol
Actually I did. Still not thrilled about it.
A win is a win but that doesn't mean I should be jumping up and down. And neither should Pop and the Spurs.
Yeah, he's the pussy who bails out when the spurs are down but comes back when they win.
I said this in the second quarter.
Yet people like TPark jump on me. I wonder if he was even watching the game.
It was not hard to see that the Spurs defense was total crap tonight. Maybe some people don't notice when the offense is playing good, but defense is the thing I look at first.
I think some of it is due to lack of focus, attention to detail and just plain laziness. I know we can play better than this. That focus has to come or we're not going to be very good.
I thought Bruce played some good defense tonight. You think he should have had more court time?
Also, TimVP I'm curious about what you think about Tolliver after another atrocious shooting night?
You're probably going to say Watkins was garbage or wouldn't have done anything in the NBA, but I think I'm going to stand by what I said in the preseason that Watkins should have been looked at more than Tolliver. I think with a bit of tutelage he could have helped with the interior defense. A lot of people said that Mahinmi would be back soon so there was no need for another big like Watkins. Doesn't look like Mahinmi is going to show up.
I don't know about that. We've played horrible before in the early part of the season. A couple of those seasons were Championship seasons. I don't want to call you out, but are you sure about what you're saying? Have you followed previous seasons closely?
The difference I think though is that there are more great teams than there was in some of the previous seasons.
Who's jumping up and down? I'm pretty sure Pop isn't and team wouldn't be either.
Tolliver is done. He might not even make it to the Miami game.
A win is a win IMO and even though the Spurs have played pretty ugly lately, I think that this is really good for them at this point in the season and that it will pay huge dividends come Playoff time, especially for the new guys. And at least this is happening now and not then.
Ha!
My name on this board is BuzzerBeater.
How many buzzerbeaters have we had this year?
Too many for me to feel comfortable with the consistency level of defense, to me it takes twice as long to develop into a balanced team since we set out to find perimeter shooters this year, and have given that part of our game a lot more responsibility, so that takes away from our stuff in the paint.
Another thing to consider; other teams have had 10 years to see what Pop and Timmy run, then at least another 5 to break down what those 'ships were all about, so I take that into consideration whenever we have a big turnover rate, factor in also the off the ball and on banging that Timmy absorbs without getting the veteran's benefit of the whistle, is that just me noticing that trend?
This spursaddict fellow is implying that because "a win is a win" and you should slap someone out of happiness.
Up next a trip to South Beach.
Well if you're referring to the fans sure, but like I said Pop and the team wouldn't be jumping up and down because of this defense. Then again they know not to get too excited about anything even if the defense was decent.
we're ranked 7th defensively, and that's including our horrible D in the 1st 5 games of the season..and that's including being without Manu, who is our 3rd best perimeter defender..
that's fine, especially for a team that is known not to care much about the regular season..
a win is a win..we're just going for homecourt, we're already a proven team..
did you really expect a blowout win? we were on a back-to-back vs. a young, athletic team, which is the type of team we struggle against..Philly beat us last year IIRC..
Well, well...guess what???![]()
Again when concerning the Hornets, look at the loss column.
The Spurs have played more games than NO, and the Hornets will make up the games. The Spurs currently sit with one more loss than the hornets, so therefore the Spurs are gonna when its all said and done more than likely be 1 game BEHIND the hornets.
Loss column, thats the stat to look at.
Yeah but they have 20 wins and Spurs have 22.
Hornets have to get to 22 and 9 if they are to pass the Spurs and as it stands on their schedule they have their work cut out for them.
Next 2 NOH games:
Lakers
Utah
Also these are back to back games so they will be tired as against 2 top teams. Lets say they win one and lose one, that would still put them further back from the Spurs.
