If Sasha despite all his flaws would be a good shooter they would keep him.
But unfortunately he IS NOT a good shooter. Maybe in practice, but who the cares about that.
I'm not some big Sasha fan, never was. I just hate when someone is wrongfully accused. You don't know what happened, I don't know what happened, but something stinks. There are double standards for him and for Smodis.
And something was wrong from the get go. While Beno was with the team even in civil clothes, Vujacic was absent. And Beno had his therapies too.
I'm not even saying that Vujacic must be on the team, but the way things went down, tells me that something is fishy.
Yesterdays game showed how much a good shooter will be missed. Zone defenses will kill our team.
Even Bulgarian zone was killing them.
Now imagine someone who actually knows how to play defense.
Things went wrong with this NT again and that makes me sad, but it doesn't give me a right to make things up.

Against Lithuania: 8 minutes, 0/1 3pt 2 fouls
Against Spain: 12 minutes, 0/1 2pt 1/4 3pt 2/2 ft, 1 def rebound 3 fouls
Against GB: 10 minutes, 0/1 2pt 0/3 3pt, 1 off reb 3 asists 3 fouls
So 0% 2 pointers and 12.5% 3 pointers. I dread to see what a bad shooter looks like.
But hey it's just a couple of games - lets see how did he do during the season:
Regular: 80 games, 16.2 mpg, 38.7 fg% (well bellow league avarage) 36.3 3pt% (about league avarage)
Playoffs: 23 games 10.9 mpg, 26.4 fg%, 32.4 3pt%.
He may be a great shooter, but this year he's been crap.
How goes that old saying about sun always following the rain? He was almost a 50% shooter for a good part of the 2007-08. He was bad during this season, but he wasn't exactly lucky. His season started with an injury. Ariza was playing great and was taking his minutes away.
One thing about Vujacic is sure. He needs a lot of minutes to settle and to gain confidence. He didn't have that luxury on the Lakers, because they were in the run for the championship.
Again, I don't mind Zdovc sent him packing if there were problems with him, but something just doesn't feel right.
Well that's understandable. Smodis has been one of the best, if not the best, power forwards in Europe for several years and is practically the heart of the team, while Vujacic had one good season in the NBA. Also, Smodis played for the NT on the previous championship and actually played a few friendly games this year while Sasha hasn't.
I believe Sasha's story, though he might have exaggerated some things. Like the too hard training part.
You are OK with double standards. I get it.
Translate for those who don't speak spanish, please.
I'll disappoint you:
Vujacic, KZS (Slovenian basketball federation) doesn't want you, but Maribor (name of his hometown) is always with you.
p.s.
Lack of knowledge is a .

In this case... I think everyone is ok with double standards except you.
Vujacic and Smodis shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence if you are comparing players by what they achieved and what kind of personalities they are.
And NO, contributing absolutely nothing to winning a championship and then getting a ring because you were a part of that team isn't an acomplishment.
p.s.
Imo the sports fan base in Maribor is a little re ed. They support the likes of Zahovič and Vujačič as they are gods. Well to be honest; Zahovič at least achieved some things even if he is a bag.
I'm not ok with it.
And no, I'm not anywhere near štajerska.![]()
I think Vujacic should've gotten more opportunity. But double standards they may be, you can't compare the two, Smodis is much more important.
And winning an NBA championship is an accomplishment.
I didn't think it was anything bad in the first place.
Just reposting live internet link for tonights game agains Greece: http://www.rtvslo.si/play/v-zivo-tv-...ija-2/tv.slo2/

We will either get completely murdered out there or we will have some hope restored.
Greece 114 - 68 Slovenia
Vaginis MVP with 43 pts, 11 rbs, 18 ast, 9 stl.![]()
Is KBP gonna nut everywhere is V-Span has a good game?
37-31. Jaka with a halfcourt prayer at the end of the half.
Second unit lost the momentum, greeks are creeping back.
Lakovic with a ridiculous 3-pointer accross whole court to finish the 2nd period![]()
halfcourt? That wasnt' halfcourt.![]()
Vaginis got blocked by Brezec (a player not affraid to play in NBA) in the 1st quarter and went MIA since.
Yeah ok, from the other 3 point line.
Brezec was a meast on NBA 2k8.
I'm pulling for Slovenia today just so we can all make fun of KBP.
Does Nachbar look a little fat to anyone else?
Yes, it's been discussed before in this thread. I personally don't care if he's fat or not if he brings his A game to the court and he's finally beginning to.
Beno looks slim and in great shape.
