Stop talking about things you don't know, Rio sucks when he plays for England he's much rather stay fit for Man United and Ledley is the Greg Oden of Football.

Listen i'm not saying England are favorites to beat Germany or Ghana, but writing them off already?
LOL, you think the likes of Carragher and Upson are all-stars or something ... good luck with facing world-class strikers. It is what it is, the defense is vulnerable and the offense is overrated and underachieving per usual.

Haha, well I like them, and I would rather see them advance than England.

Cause one day I'd still like to visit your lovely country, Slovenia.

    Slovenia is beautiful!

Considering the quality of teams going on the US would be fortunate to have Germany and Serbia win and get Serbia in the 2nd round. Serbia is a good team but winnable for the US if they play well.

    Uh, what?

Dude has done this time and time again. Not this dramatically but even in 2002 he was the best player on the team.

This time around he's not clearly the best player. I think Altidore, Bradley, Dempsy and he have all played very well at times but in the end Donovan picks them up in back to back games again.

    Amazing, simply amazing.

    I love me some Donovan.

I'm probably caught up in the emotion of it all but I don't get why everyone is hating on England, yeah they sucked first two games and put it right today. I'm not saying England are going to win it all but i at people who are counting them out already.

Congrats to the USA too, you deserved it.

You act like i'm saying England are the 1999 Spurs on defense.

The biggest relief to me about that goal was not only that they advanced, but that we now don't have to deal with the threads that would have been started here and the general feeling that the ref in the 2nd game robbed the US because that would have been full force and brutal.

You can't count anybody out from now on, one unfortunate play and you're out, group stage performances don't mean . In fact, teams with history (like England) that barely get through in the first round tend to become very dangerous in the latter stages.

The U.S. plays the runner-up in Group D, no?

Btw, if you haven't seen the 30 for 30 called The Two Escobars, you must see it. It was a pretty poignant look at the Columbian National soccer team from about their meteoric rise and just as frantic fall. The reverence and control that Pablo Escobar had and the subsequent disarray that cost Andres Escobar his life because of the own goal scored in '94.

Damn, how bad would Altidore had felt if they had lost? I mean in the first half having that ball right at your feet for a goal and just yaking it like that.

Tim Duncan thinks FiFa sucks worse than FIBA now.

Congrats USA and England . At the end all things (such as luck) evens out, I guess.
I had a blast (while it least ) and I am VERY proud about our guys.

But man, we were close as we will ever be.

USA-Australia? That's mathematically the least likely matchup.

It would mean Germany would have to blow out Ghana (like 4-0) with Australia beating Serbia 2-0.

This brings back memories from Copa America '04 when Adriano scored against the Argies in the 93rd minute of the final to eventually send the game to a shootout where we took the cup. I've never been more stoked my entire life, including Baggio's missed penalty in '94 when I was a little kid lol

I wonder if any of the Argies here remember that
