Because I didnt remember from watching the film (as most people probably didnt). That cartoon told me he must still be alive. I also read about possible Joker cameos so that told me he must have lived.

I still dont remember how he "lived". I remember him blowing himself out of jail...thats about it. The third act of "TDK" was un-needed "Two-face" garbage.

Im convinced most non-nolanites who saw the film dont remember. Or maybe even have false memories like "the joker died" because the respective endings were such total -ups.

When did the batman foil the jokers plot? I remember the two ferries deciding not to blow each other up (which gets about a hundred ).

I thought the first batman was good not great, but TDK is one of the most successful movies of all time. I'm not really sure what your argument could be?

It ends with the joker being detained by SWAT and batman saving gordons son from dent...who died after the fall. Then batman runs from the police.
