Abbott was urging Houstonians to consider evacuating before the rain got here and our dumbass mayor said there was no need to evacuate and that catastrophic rain amounts were just fear mongering. Houston media outlets for a while were only saying 10 to 15 inches at the most.

This was from a few days ago. Turner went on the news and called this fake and trying to create panic. Looks like it turned out to be true as the NWS is predicting 50 to 60 inches of rain in certain areas.
