Bowen glances down at Amare's leg right before he kicks him. His head is pointed down between about the 33 to 36 second mark--and he looked right towards Amare's leg right when kicking him.
Amare is en led to his opinion. But he should know better than to come out to the media to vent his frustrations. All NBA players have "dirty" tricks up their sleeves. It's part of the game. Rather than whine about it in public, why not just take it like a man and give some back? The last thing he needs to do is give the Spurs more of a reason to beat the Suns down.
I was looking for a video or pic of Raja kicking Bargnani in the nuts and came across a thread on raptorschat and some fans were asking if Raja was trying to be like Bowen.
No point really just kinda made me chuckle after reading everyone defending their players as not dirty to hear another party state it.
Yeah, there's no defense for trying to intentionally injure a player from another team. Spur fans sure as wouldn't like it. Getting your feet wrapped up with another player while guarding him is one thing (like the Bowen-Vince Carter incident), but this is just malice by Bowen.
I agree and disagree with Amare's comments:
1. Bowen does some dirty things sometimes. Anyone who says otherwise is in denial. Bowen's Achilles kick was uncalled for and could have caused Amare some unfortunate injury.
2. The Spurs are not a dirty team. Manu and Bowen do some questionable things, but that doesn't make the whole team dirty. I doubt Pop tells his guys in practice, "Alright guys, listen up. We gotta try and take Amare out of the game, so do whatever you need to do...just make it look subtle."
Amare shouts it to the whole world Bruce is already deaf on issues about how dirty he is in the playoffs.

they just want the refs to watch Bruce more closely and be in foul trouble so they can win the game.
I'm kind of losing respect on Amare because he now acts so immature and losing respect of the game and of his opponents.

We take our lumps like all the other teams and if we can get away with a little punch to the face, foot under a shooter, kick to the back of the ankle, etc.... we're going to do it like any other team! Nah it's nothing like that. Players like Bowen just get caught up in the over-compe iveness of the situation. He was slow on the defensive switch, got burned and reacted negatively. Still, If this were a criminal situation we would have to take intent into account. Name me one person on Earth who called Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, or Gary Payton dirty?
How about MJ? How about Pippen? How about Tim Duncan? Duncan is a great defender. Does Duncan have to resort to bushleague pussy moves like undercutting Stoudemire, Shaq, Boozer, KG, etc or does he just beat them with straight up solid defense.

I don't really notice Bowen intentionally looking to take out players or whatevere, but he does defend with his legs, so maybe other team's fans don't like that.
