you do realize we've been dealing with injuries to key players right??
No YOU DO NOT. you do not want wide open threees by anyone with the game on the line. I would have had no problem giving up and open two to Carter, but not an open three with a 4 point lead. No way.
you do realize we've been dealing with injuries to key players right??
Not more than TP with 7.
TD is the only guy that can get a ing rebound in the team.48-35 to Nuggets but maybe 30-0 when TD was in the bench. That was the key.
Parker was blocked like a million times..
then Duncan decided to join the parade and get a closing minute block on himself. Too much isolation and overdribbling by the guys. But can't knock them too much, Manu woulda helped in this game.
I still consider it a pretty bad loss. Although nothing to be upset over in January.not a bad loss IMO
no Manu, no Barry and Horry still out of shape, yet we were still in it til the very end
The game being close had more to do with Denver's mindless turnovers and fouls and less to do with Spurs doing a good job and scrapping together in the second half.
you don't make sense at all...??
the chance of carter hitting a three is WAY less of a chance then hitting a two..
True dat. he defends Duncan very well.
They'll always have trouble in a 7 game series as long as they make such poor decisions though.
IMO, the decision to start Horry killed this team from the outset. The Spurs started off flat-footed and got themselves into a big hole quickly.
Granted, they were able to close the gap, but it's the principle of the situation....they had good/great success starting Oberto alongside Duncan. So why mess with it?
I guess that if you were to try to "jumpstart" Horry, this would be the time...but I still didn't like the move.
Bottom Line: Let Horry be what he is....sixth man, energy guy, clutch player....not the starter.
Time to get really drunk, watch Sleepless In Seattle and cry myself to sleep (where I most likely will wake in a pool of urine)...
Yeah sorry man, I was going to write that injuries have played a key part in it
Still I hate seeing 4-6 in a 10 game stetch, absolutely hate it.
mental lapses cost the game for the spurs down the stretch. they allowed the physical game by denver's big men to get into their heads. it was quite winnable with still a minute left.![]()
I'm fine with it. It was a very lucky shot by a very poor 3pt shooter. That's not what lost them the game.
Nice choke by the Spurs. Duncan and the low post turnovers have got to stop...
The spurs played good D, but they really need Manu and Barry on the offense end. Moreover, they need Manu's clutch play.
That was the best I've seen him defended in a LONG time. You have to be impressed with the post defense that Denver exhibited....to include the shot-blocking in the paint.
Agreed. Duncan always seems a bit bothered when guarded by Nenê. Plus, Nenê blocks Duncan as anyone usually does.
good game.
4-6 in Last10
This is stretch is starting out like Dec-Feb of last year, 13-12.
Look man most NBA players especially guards can hit a wide open 3. With a 4 point lead I do not want anyone left open on the perimeter unless it's the other teams center.
In that situation I would have much rather they had an open 2 and if they hit we still have a two point lead. The game would have been tied and Bruce wouldn't have had to commit the foul on AI and let the Nuggets get a three point lead. That makes a huge difference. I am talking about the situation the Spurs were in tonight. If it was a five or 6 point game then yes I might take my chances and leave Carter open, not in a 4 point game though.
Oh my...I looked away for a few minutes, and when I looked back, it was a 2-point game.

You're really misusing the term "choke". This was not a choke by the Spurs in ANY way. Do you even know what that term means?![]()
with the sheer number of big men that they can throw at TD, they can pretty much do that to anybody.
who cares? I hope to be wrong but i'm sure Suns will win
Choke - An act in which a team or a person collaspe when they are expected to win no matter what the other team does.
Duncan played a pretty terrible game. No adjustments to their defense, slow decisions, bouncing the ball off his foot, etc.
Parker decided to wait 2.5 quarters before trying. Finley and Bonner are the only ones who brought their game all night.
Our defense was outstanding for 46:30. However, in basketball, the object is to outscore your opponent, so we failed. .
14 blocked shots by Denver
People think they suck on D when they look at points against but they are something like 4th in defensive efficiency per 100 possessions. Its their offense that is letting them down this season
