No way Pop would play bonner over Horry - he trusts vets, and in that case why did he bring back Horry at all. He's definitely lost faith in Bonner this year, but Horry would be taking these minutes in an effort to get ready for the playoffs anyway.
He lost faith in Bonner to an extent, but Bonner's minutes started to slide as Horry made his way back. Bonner's contract is based on his role past this season. If he doesn't work out, then we're talking about 4% of the Spurs' payroll.

Mr Body, I think they'll use him more next year. if he continues to suck, he'll be an expiring and easily traded. There are 100 worse contracts in the NBA. I just don't think it's a huge issue.

The NUGGETS suck! They were up 10 with 6 to go, now back to 3 on a Pierce slam and no blockout on Rondo for a follow-jam. Nuggets look great on paper, but really they are paper tigers with no clue...

Regardless of pie-in-the-sky thinking, do you really want to be paying your 12th man $3 million? Seriously? Do you seriously think this summer the Spurs won't be trying to convince Horry to play another season, because Bonner can't cut it?

You're being very Pollyanna with the Bonner situation, and I respect taking a player's back, but he's bad. The contract was bad. Too many years, too much money, when it was apparent he's nothing more than a crowd favorite guy deep on the bench.
If that is the worst contract the Spurs have to worry about, the Spurs don't have much worries on that front. It's not like paying Steve Smith $9 mil per or Radoslav Nesterovic $7 mil per for the next 5 years or whatever it was. Bonner's contract is probably the 70th worst in the NBA today.

No, it's not a major issue, but for a team so extremely wary of the various caps, he's at least a minor albatross around their necks. I thought it was a bad deal when it was offered, and nothing has proven otherwise. I'll lay a hen's egg if he gets more time next year than he's getting now.

Exactly. An contract worth a bit over half the MLE is fine for anyone who can play even a little in the NBA!

In twenty years all your frontrunner children will be asking, "who's that old guy with the pockmarked face?"
As long as they never ask who that tall guy is sitting in the third row, things will be OK.

Nuggets will win this, but not through good execution - more like a few calls going their way and some poor decisions on O by the Celts.

What moves is it really going to prevent the Spurs from making? The Spurs are going to be over the cap regardless until 2010, which is when his deal ends. Francisco Elson just made $3 mil per for 2 seasons.

And versus a Garnett-less Celtics, Camby already has 13 rebounds, 3 steals and 9 blocks.

Bad NBA deals are paying Wally Szczerbiak $13 mil per this year and next. Not to mention Mark Blount's deal, which will pay him $8 mil per until 2010. I'd rather have Bonner's deal anytime over Blount's.

Nah, it was during the game. Manu fouled some dude on a 3 point shot and he and Pop got into it on the sidelines. Looked like they were both pretty angry.

Manu fouled Richardson, manu started to whine Pop told him "shut up and play" Manu yelled something back, he yelled bull manu came back with "no that call was bull " then Pop yanked him.

    Pretty funny exchange.

What a crappy game that was -- the first 3 quarters were absolute dreck and the 4th was better only because the Spurs actually started making some shots. If I understood Schoening correctly, the Spurs shot 58% in the 2nd half despite the fact that they went 6 minutes of the third quarter without scoring a basket.

I should have asked for a refund on the way out of the building.

The Spurs Fan Shop should be shut down due to absolute idiots running it.
