1-Basketball is a contact sport, is it not?

2-The pick is a legal play, is it not?

3-An opposing player should not lessen his intensity just because his counterpart is gimpy, agreed?

4-Why is it that fans of teams who are already on trips to warm parts the world over are doing the most in and moanin? Is it because that's all they know how to do because their teams have yet to even sniff a LOB?

5-If not those fans of teams who are already on trips, we get the dreaded Lakah fan who feels it's Kobe's birthright to have more les than Tim Duncan. The same kind of fans who would watch Kobe set hard picks just like Rob did on any unsuspecting player(bad back or not) and not only applaud him, but give him praise and encouragement matched by LA Media and picked up by National Media with the following words,"Did you see that pick that Kobe set? Oh the DOMINATION, that's championship heart and the greatness of a true demi-god. ESPN would love to play that, and they're trying to angle for it.

6-Don't ever tell me that Spursfan doesn't know back issues. Let me know when David West can do what his idol, David Robinson, did and take an EPIDURAL to the back to face the unmitigated fury that used to be a mobile and more ferocious Shaq.

7-You can cheer a player for doing a clean play, if the result is that another player is hurt, it's sad but there isn't anyone here other than the people in that arena, none of you loudmouth -ass punks can say what each individual was thinking. It's amazing how there are so many mensas out there that think they can sense a collective shift in the Force or whatever, but c'mon, I call bull on that and I don't even care if there are a group of you that think the same. Open a church then.

If it was me, I'd say that I would've cheered Big Shot Rob for a well-timed pick, but that I would've also been concerned about David West's condition and then clapped once he was able to clear the court. Now, having said that, does that make me a bad guy for cheering my guy...even though I showed concern for an opponent?

I got over Robert Horry sticking a dagger in our backs in 95.
I got over Horry flat out leveling Tony Parker from behind in what WAS a dirty hit in 2002.
I got over Horry trying castrate David Robinson in 03.

I can damn sure get over him knocking the crap out of David West...and Spur fans cheering him doing it.

    In fact...I enjoyed it.

If you guys don't think David West is going to be ready to play for game 7...you're delusional. In fact I would not be surprised if he faked the entire incident...just to set the Spurs up in game 7. It certainly wouldn't hurt the Hornets chances.

These Hornets flop, they decieve they trick.....inexperience my ass, these dudes already know every trick in the book... them. Kick their ass...

First play of the game I hope Kurt Thomas jacks West's ass up, and I hope he continues to do it every time West even thinks about calling for the ball...put that ing back to the test Kurt...I'll be cheering you doing it. Be sure to try and catch some kidney while you are doing it

First play of the game I hope Mangoo dribbles down the court and trips over the half court line, does a double flip backwards, rolls across the floor fluttering his arms, does a cartwheel on his head, finishing off the FLOP hitting Horry right the out and ref Crawford calling "offensive foul"

And of course every Spew on the court surrounding Crawford crying with their long baby faces saying " what foul, thats not fair, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" and you HOMERS defending them.

    Whottt gets it....

This wasnt about West getting injured.... it was about Horry saying " you!" to the young punks who have been playing pretty dirty this series in their own ing right. taking the high road this time, they want to play playground ball I hope the Spurs show them some playground ball back.

Well, it's unfortunate that West got hurt. At the same time, someone on the NOH needs to get bumped so they can know who are the champs in this series. NOH wants to come in and disrespect the Spurs and beat us.

I'm telling you...they were cheering Horry for putting West on his ing ass...the first time all series a Spur has put a Hornet on his ass. And they want to see more of it...and they were cheering Horry for being the one with the balls to say this is how you do it...

It was obvious that even if West was injured it wasn't because Horry put some kind of dirty hit on him...and they were simply letting the dude know they appreciated his play. It completely sets the tone for the way the Spurs need to play to beat these ing dudes....just like it did last year when he put that shot on Nash.

It's as simple as that...it was an exhaltation of relief over a Spur player with the necessary at ude...it had jack to do with the severity of West's injury...

When you see San Antonio cheering a guy getting horse collared or a knee popping...then get back to me on their etiquette...until then, if you don't cheer Spurs players knocking the crap out of someone well within the acceptable limits of game play...then don't be in here calling them out/calling them pussies soft etc, when they lose becuase they don't play that way.

From the whining from Widdle chrissiey C3PO and Chandler, it sounds like NOLA is just another one of those punk teams that are big enough to give it out, but ain't a damn one of them man enough to take it

I was at the game today so I thought I could shed some light on the chanting. I personally did not chant but some of the people around me did. My sense was that most people were chanting to show support for Horry giving a good hard foul. From the second level, the pick did not look bad at all and most people around me thought West was acting/flopping. The play was also not replayed in the stadium so the fans in the stands did not get as good a view of the play as some of you watching at home.

Its funny you mention "Man enough" defending the Spews. Pop mans up saying the DOUBLE T in the 2nd quarter cost them the game. Pop is a real man crying about the Lakers Gasol trade. Horry mans up tonights game hitting West from behind.

Isn't that a damn shame the Spews don't STFU and take it.

You need attention? I'll play along. You're mommy told me after I let her suck my KAWK (I'm disgusted wth myself letting that ugly dumb put her mouth around my KAWK, I was drunk, did not , allowed that pity blow to last only a few minutes) and after, she told me you were going through puberty. She was worried.

She said " My boy lets the dog hump his leg and right before the dog 'spews' he grabs the dogs KAWK and slups all the 'spew'" down like a milk shake, he pats his tummy and says 'yummy'."

You're mommy deserves all the credit for the term "Spew"

this is a stupid ing thread. apologizing for a hard foul?

its the mother ing playoffs. grow some god damned balls.

horry in no way meant to hurt west in that perfectly LEGAL screen. its alot similar to the screen chandler set on TP last game. I dont see ing hornets fans screaming sorry all over this board.

as far as the chanting was concerned, you people are greatly exagerrating it. sure, there was a good number of people chanting for horry (and you i was one of them) but as far as i was concerned it was in no way cheering for the actual INJURY of a player. I even gave west a nice little round of applause when he got up and walked off the court. The chant was for Horry once again stepping in and showing the balls that it takes to win in the NBA playoffs. Hard foul? yes. Dirty play? Not at all.

    ing ridiculous this thread is.

" you I was one of them"

Feel proud. You cheered a cheap dirty foul on a play away from the ball to a player that was already hurt with his back turned to Horry.

I forgot to mention.. Spews up by 20 in the 4th quarter.

It was a little awkward for the fans to chant Horry, but to apologize for it, after West stamped his feet up and down throwing tantrums beforehand? Don't feel sorry for that piece of trash. And especially don't feel sorry for his team thinking the refs "let them win this one."

Yea, you, I do feel proud.

The Hornets wanted a physical series and they got one. People like you shouldnt be crying about them getting exactly what they asked for.

I never cheered for West getting hurt, no good sports fan ever wants that. But I damn sure cheered for Horry nutting up and giving the hornets, especially West, a taste of his own medicine.

I'm gonna take the high-road and add that West shouldn't have been playing with a bad back and his team down by 20 in the first place....that said, this is the NBA, not the WNBA, hard fouls are part of this game, don't like it...GTFO...

and Suns fans trying to compare this to last season....

....also, the Spurs were getting murdered in game 5 and got no calls, so if you think Spurs fans cheering for Horry for the hard foul was in bad taste then part of the blame has to go to the game 5 refs who let that game get physically out of hand as they swallowed their whistles...

    Damn right. Finally.

I can't believe the other teams fans with their sanctimonious bull about chants for Horry. And then some Spurs fans saying they're embarrassed for it?

Everyone's so pious now when it comes to basketball and "class".

It was just peripheral chants, that had a lot more to do with Horry, and nothing much to do with West getting hurt.

And my issue is with fans who cheered Bill Lambeeir even being allowed on the basketball court, much less his jersey going up into the rafters, lecturing anyone on any sort of fan etiquette.

Did you cheer when they retired Lambeeir's jersey? He made an entire career out of being a goon, and you guys retired his jersey for it...

Seriously...do you get off on being a hypocrite or are you genuinely clueless that you are one?
Whott, you're a homer of the highest order, which is sort of funny because (A) last I checked, you aren't even a spurs fan originally, and (B) very few spurs fans actually like you. Your loyalties lie whichever way the wind blows.

Laimbeer was an excellent basketball player. A better one than Robert Horry. He was very physical, but so was everyone else in the era he played in.

Me being a Piston fan does not mean I can't comment on this, homer. Sorry. I don't cheer injuries like you do.

And for all Laimbeer did, he never knocked anybody out of a playoff game.

Since everyone's been saying for the last year that the Spurs wouldn't have beaten the Suns if Horry hadn't hip checked Steve Nash, then what do they expect?

Parker got hit exactly the same way about ten times harder and got up. If West was injured so badly that a hit like that could drop him to the ground then he probably shouldn't have been in the game in the first place.

David West is a ing crybaby who was whining about getting whistled for obvious calls because he gets away with that bull at home. Horry was going to deliver a message to him whether he was battling a sore back or not, and it was brilliant. Horry is back in playoff mode, and he contributed to a big win, and anyone that thinks his biggest contribution was by intentionally trying to injure someone is a fool.

As I mentioned in another thread, West was looking for a way out of that game anyway, and going out on his shield beats getting a second technical, and he knew it.

As long as the Spurs win a championship, I'm perfectly content with you stupid bags who hate them to try to attach asterisks, particularly some of you who spend time defending Ron Artest, Ronny Turiaf or the Bad Boys.
