I have no clue what's going on with the team this season. Pop hates four things: Rookies, excessive fouls, turnovers, and bigs. This year's roster seems designed to make a vein in his head burst.
That last roster spot ... I don't know if the Spurs are willing to carry yet another small in Forbes when the bigs are so limited. With Dedmon more of a 5, and only bulky Anderson at backup 4 ... Kawhi and Bertans as small ball pfs? LJC I have a hard time taking seriously as a possibility.
Things would get very, very rough with an injury to either starter.
I thought the Spurs were somehow required to sign LJC because of some prior obligation. I really hope that's not the case, because that roster spot is worth gold at this point.
2nd best lineup in the West and arguably the league as I really think the Spurs match up well with Cleveland.

My mistake, I was counting Duncan's stretch hold on the cap as a player. They should have two empty spots even with LJC

It will certainly be a year of change, growth, and experiments. At least it's with some youth and an eye for the future and not just right now.
It'll be interesting to see how Pop navigates it all. He'll continue to monitor minutes so he has no choice but to let some guys live and learn.

Looking for a missing PF for the Vet Min.
I could see Willie Reed, Jarnell Stokes being in the price range of what the Spurs have room for which I belive is just going to be minimum contracts now. Although I would hope Pop could sell coming to a player like Terence Jones or Thomas Robinson for the mininum, I just don't see it.
I have no definitive answer, but I'm pretty sure that mid-season wouldn't be any different than if he signed back up the next day after being stretched.

How would we get Terrence Jones? We'll likely have no cap room left after signing Pau/Manu/Bertans, correct? I know his stock has dropped off but I still can't imagine him playing for the minimum.
