i thought roberson was a lock. is there any chance of him flopping?
OrangeBloods mentioned LB/S TJ Harrell of Tampa, FL as a guy we need to look out for.
Harrell says he's been in touch with someone from UT about an offer and is waiting to hear from Strong to make it official.

Got to keep him happy.
OrangeBloods saying OL Alex Anderson of New Orleans, LA will be in Austin on Thursday/Friday and then will head to Arizona State for the weekend. He's supposed to make a decision once he returns home.
He'd get a T for that, maybe even fined.
What do you guys think of those rules Scipio outlined in that Barking Carnival post?
Not sure I am a fan of that dorm rule. Seems ridiculous.
Inside Texas saying offseason workouts with Pat Moorer start today and the coaches have told the players they're expecting some of them to quit.
Going way back. I remember that little son of gun. He got a lot out of that little frame. A Texas Fred Belitnikoff.
Why is it ridiculous to have free room and board at the University of Texas? These guys have been cuddled for so long its sickening....
Thats the rule, along with the classroom behavior, that I like the best.
Austin is a place to go wayward. A number of ex-football players still live in Austin and some are big trouble. They have pulled players into incidents off campus.
They were getting free room off campus because the university gave them a living stipend to live off campus. They would room with friends and pocket the rest of the stipend for free spending money. That's a nice little perk they're pissed about losing.
I don't mind the change. It's Charlie's program and we want him to change the culture so we can't while he changes the culture.
Burton seems like quite the pompous ass. Keeps tooting his own horn about what he got right and completely ignored everything he got wrong. It's funny watching people call him out on it and he gets all defensive.
I'm for everything, especially with this bunch who have had it made. I've been so frustrated the past few years at all of the people who incessantly claimed Mack was trying his best. The guy was preaching how great everything was and "we expect to win 'em all", but he was absent constantly and didn't allow harsh punishment. He didn't even attend full practices. Because of all of that, you're left with a team so detached from reality without a sensible view of how to reach their goals (assuming they all even care). The culture is rotten to its core and it's time to cull the herd. For example, did y'all know Daje failed the majority, if not all, of his classes? How the F does that happen?!

Won't bother me until Ags translate big recruiting into wins on the field. You're losing the most important player in the history of your program and these recruits won't be making meaningful contributions on the field most likely for 3-4 years; probably 2 at best. If other guys on current roster, particularly on defense, don't step up this year - I'm not sure the top 5 recruiting class momentum can continue beyond this year. Of course the fun of college football is you never know how things will play out so will be entertaining to watch.
That said, it is pretty impressive class and I've seen some of your recruits in person and there are some serious players there.
WR Lorenzo Joe of Abilene Cooper has set up some official visits to TCU and USC. According to Inside Texas he's solid, but the problem up to this point is he hasn't been contacted at all by the new staff so he's looking at options just in case. Not an encouraging development considering WR Emanuel Porter is giving a real hard look at LSU.
it certainly sounds like the culture there had gotten out of hand (although FSU just won a le and has exactly this culture-actually probably worse) and i admire strong for putting his foot down. if he can get some positive results from it, i'm sure his method will get the full backing but if not one has to wonder if his methods will be lost beyond his tenure. personally, i think all universities should hold their athletes accountable but winning is the most important detail for most of the schools.

I'm all for most of what's in the article, don't get me wrong. There should be accountability, a word Mack wasnt familiar with at all. I actually missed the part about seniors being able to move if they are where they should be academically, which makes it much more reasonable.
while i agree with your first sentence, i'm not sure i agree with the three to four years portion of your statement. there are several from this class who will start or have a chance to start this year, including allen who will have tremendous pressure on him to live up to his billing but at least he will have some solid receivers to get the ball to.

It can be done. We've seen all of the problems Meyer left behind at Florida after he won two les. But with Mack specifically, he's always needed that transcendent personality that could lead the team such as VY, Colt or Muschamp. He hasn't had that since '08. Factor in poor coaching hires/recruiting/development/evaluation, lack of discipline on and off the field, an absent 62 year-old head coach who isn't fully dedicated and is more worried about controlling the message than coaching; you're in for some rough times.

Brian Davis. He's still employed, right? Because he needed to be fired yesterday.
I have not read a single thing on turnover in the educational support staff.
Seeing as how Louisville had an outstanding record with education, I expect Strong to take care of that quickly.
MAX_olson: Grad transfer can play in 2014 RT @BlayneBeal QB Michael Brewer has announced he will transfer after the spring semester.
Expected, but still crazy how that all worked out. Webb it is.
Crazier if ends up in austin..Probably would be best qb next season
