Well, that's something Simmons didn't prove to be on his two years here. It's also something he wasn't willing to be, considering his comments about wanting a bigger role and what not.
    This tbh...

He wanted to be a bigger cog in the machine... now that he is, he can't complain that the cogs around him aren't as compatible... he's just not a very good player.

"smart posters" simply did not include in his analysis the fact that Orlando had a sequence of injuries, increasing Simmons' role and causing his efficiency to diminish, but "smart posters" ....

Either this or the analysis would show his USG% has been practically unchanged whether they have injuries or not, whether it's October, November or December, whether he comes off the bench or not.

so do you really believe that playing with worse teammates does not increase defensive pressure and consequently diminishes a player's efficiency? lol owned...right
its efficiency drops just when several lesions in sequence begin in Orlando and some poster brings statistics without context trying to prove a point, great!

The point is that if Simmons is playing poorly now, he's been playing poorly all season. His numbers don't suggest that having a bigger role has hurt him either. Though in your defense, his best stats come when he plays in the 20s mpg rather than in the 30s. That would suggest that extra minutes do hurt his production, though that could be for a lot of reasons beyond mere defensive attention.

It's important to note that even when Simmons has played well for Orlando that he hasn't really been "good" on the whole. His numbers were still below-average volume-shooter stats. And his impact stats definitely hint at him being a net-negative even in relation to his other teammates. However, you could reasonably argue that Simmons' teammates have better impact stats because they've played a larger percentage of their minutes with a healthy roster. You'd be surprised at how much that's overlooked.

You do not need to explain this to me.
in fact, this is one of the main points, especially when analyzing a player through advanced statistics (which in my opinion has no value without context)

I do not really watch Simmons after his sign to Orlando (assim como seus detratores em st), I just find it curious when someone posts a statistic to prove a point without context

That's funny because many posters don't watch Magic games, flip on the box scores from ESPN to look at that arbitrary ppg stat and think he's beasting it without putting it into context.

I don't blame him for leaving. Gotta go for the money while you can. Doubt he's going to develop much more as a player though. It's not going to be required of him anymore.

Every team in the NBA has a Simmons on it. A player, that if given minutes, will get you points without the wins.
