Good suggestions, but he would never get preoccupied. He starts to panic as soon as he sees me putting on makeup and getting dressed to go out. By the time I go downstairs, he's running around me and then by the door like a maniac. Even if I give him a brand new bone or anything to distract him before I get ready to leave. And then while we are gone he stands on his hind legs in the window the entire time.

It's a good thing we both work from home or he'd go nuts.

what he needs is a partner...my dog Pennie would destroy something if I was home late...so I got Grisela...she stopped...she is a lot better now...well, not sure how she is coping with Sac & I being away...I hear she clings at my mother and tries to fall asleep in a small corner of her room...miss them a lot...they are like children to me

But you really need to think a lot more before you speak, especially to your wife. And spend some time with a clergyman of your choice. You'll realize that you aren't going about some things in the right way.

Yes, you are right. We are actually considering getting him another dog to hang around with. He and the dog next store cry to each other through the fence in the backyard all the time. So I know he really wants a friend.

Zak - for somebody as 'philosophical' as you, and for someone who has 'seen the light' - you sure say some stupid stuff in regards to your relationship. I'm a very devout Christian - and I'd be a wreck without my girlfriend. My parents are both very Christian, and they need each other, a lot.

Having Jesus in your life is great - but don't act like relationships of the flesh (not sexual) aren't important. They're even in the Bible.

I think Zak missed the part of Christianity where they address pride. Well, Zak, you're lucky she's still with you. If I were in her shoes, I would have taken steps out the door without so much as a second look. You need her a lot more than you realize or are currently willing to admit.

And I find the fact that you think you know more than a member of the clergy about their religion to be the most obvious sign of your pride. You use psycho-religious babble to try to manipulate her. That's not Christian; that's wrong.

You make her feel bad about herself by saying hurtful things to her to the point you make her cry on the phone to me -- a person she barely knows. That's not Christian; that's wrong.

You use your Christianity at your convenience. For example to say that she's not truly Christian, yet you are the one lusting after women in Maxim in front of her face. That's not Christian; that's wrong.
