I'm not too worried, if CP3 can get 10 points a game and Wemby has an average game we might have won this one.

Kind of disappointed no one is using this loss to complain about not drafting Dillingham or Knecht. Definitely needed scoring last night. Big picture, the players are better than last year and just played a top 4 team on the road. A less horrendous Wemby and it's more of a game.

the team is sorely missing a movement shooter. champagnie is nice when he's spotting up, but you dont exactly see him curling around a screen and getting off a leaning or off balance shot. vassell does bring some of that, but its not like the roster-wide lack of shooting is a new phenomenon. i like castle but he didnt exactly address that issue

its a big part of why i loved sheppard in this draft, as well as dillingham.

Pop barely found minutes for Castle who played 1/3rd his minutes in garbage time, in a closer game he clocks out at 13 minutes.

Dillingham, Knecht, Cody Williams, Carrington, Edey, Buzelis, none of them would have played

I'll bite. This roster still needs more talent and we passed on the opportunity to add talent in this draft because we like the idea of being able to add talent in 2031, when theoretically we should be a better team with late round picks - ignoring the fact that we're never going to get there if we don't add talent before then.

However, like objective points out, our promising #4 overall pick got the typical rookie treatment and the same would have been true had we used the #8 pick on anyone else. For whatever reason, Jeremy Sochan has been the only recent non-#1 overall pick to avoid this stupid rookie development philosophy. So in the end, maybe it's better we defer draft picks until after Pop is gone.

Reason being that it was a blatant tank season.
Pop is trying to win now and therefore Castle can't get more minutes before he gets over himself.

I'll lose all the motivation for this season really soon if Castle doesn't get at least 20mpg not counting garbage time.
Last night as soon as he checked in he had a great defensive possession on Kyrie, meanwhile they just took advantage on Tre however they wanted.
If Tre isn't shooting threes on a decent volume and efficency, he's redundant. We don't need three point guards in 10 man rotation if two aren't good floor spacers.

Even with CP3 on the floor we had that sequence of Champagnie and Jeremy back to back possession turnovers because they couldn't bring the ball up to initiate the offense.
Last season we already established neither can handle the ball, why the are we still seeing like that happen?

I'm all for beautiful game and players that can do a bit of everything...but only if we have those players on the roster. Right now we don't.
Making such young team do things they're not comfortable with will just result in more confidence loss and another sub-30 wins season...which wouldn't be that bad in the long run, but I'm honestly sick of losing because this team isn't that horrible.

I guess we'll have to wait a month or so to see how this season develops, but right now I'm back to Pop being past it camp.

Holy , if this is Pop trying to win, he's even more far gone than I thought.

Castle is likely more ready than Pop realizes. Castle already seems over himself. So on one hand, andale pues, but it's only one game, I guess.

When I saw Barnes hit that baseline J in the 2nd quarter I thought it was Kurt Thomas. Had to rub my eyes a bit.
I actually think Thomas was sitting behind the Mavs bench. I think.
