The most important trait for modern bigs is rim protection. Sengun offers none.
    He also can't shoot.

Sabonis has been averaging 19/13/6 on great efficency for 6 years now and he's useless in the playoffs.

Giannis is the second best player in the league, Sengun won't ever be even close to him.

    Nothing special in this draft.

We 're looking at 2 players who can't make the rotation and a 20mpg bench player on a first round exit team as great assets?

Giannis would be the best player who got traded in 50 years, you're not getting him for an average all-star player package.
It's either Amen or no deal.
Bucks have no realistic hope of getting a player as good as Giannis in a trade. Nature of the beast.

Are people basing all of Sengun's defense based on block shot numbers? Is it 1998 right now? His defensive metrics are good over the past two seasons. He's made big strides on defense over the past two years.

Sengun's major flaw is three point shooting. He hits three's are 27% at low volume. Oddly enough Amen Thompson also shoots three's at 27% at low volume.

He’ll be 23 next season. He’s a 20/10 big man shooting 50% for his career with very good defensive metrics and a five year contract. Yes he’s worth three firsts all unprotected.
There's zero chance bucks would even consider that package. First of all the money doesn't work but it would have to be something like Sengun, Reed & Jabari Smith. The numbers work. Then throw in picks and swaps. This is one of the greatest players of all time still in his prime (had one of his best seasons last year) lol.

Giannis only has so many realistic suiters when you factor in tradeable picks, players and contending windows.

    Cam Whitmore isn't worth much.

Milwaukee will want Phoenix picks, that level. It depends on whether the Bucks need to make a trade and what other suitors there are, but I agree that Sengun isn't worth a ton. Whitmore is worth nothing. The 10 is okay. They'll definitely ask for Amen. Rockets will want to get rid of Jabari Smith and Jalen Green. And I think you're looking at four to five unprotected picks or thereabout.

Every single team in the league would be better if they offered their second and third best players for Giannis.

The Sengun under vauling is insane. He's a very good player with projection left since most players don't hit their prime until age 27 or so.

Come on man, a package centered around Sengun isn't going to get you Giannis.

Sengun is a good player but a team has to build around him essentially. Milwaukee would be locked into a direction with him and they shouldn't want to do that.

They don't have control over their picks. A 3-5 year tank job isn't an option. They have to build around someone fast.

Sengun advanced stats ranking this season as a 22 year old.

    VORP: 12th
    Win Share Per 48: 24th
    Total Win Shares: 19th
    BPM: 14th
    OBPM: 37th
    DBPM: 13th

He's a top 30 player by age 22. Yeah he's horrible building block for the Bucks long term.

I heard if Dallas trades Kidd to New York, the Mavs gon hire Mike Malone.

Giannis would be stupid to go out west. He can just go to Toronto or another Eastern Conference team and make the finals every year like LeBron when he was on the Cavs. Much easier than to be in a dogfight every round in the west. The west is so stacked that there will be 3-4 good teams that won't even make the playoffs.

Giannis staying put in Milwaukee probably makes the most sense for all parties, and theoretically helps Phoenix as it should drive up the bidding for Durant. Interesting times.

It'll have an effect in a lot of places for sure, but I doubt it effects KD's market. He'll decide who he'll extend with and that where go because nobody is trading big assets for a 1 year rental.

Good. He should just stay out East. I'm sure he's seeing that most teams that trade for him are going to be gutted, the only difference is, they won't have loyalty towards him like Milwaukee as it won't be the team that drafted him.

I wonder if this is going to hurt the Spurs' chances of getting Durant now (if they did really want him), though.

That would be great news cause it would mean our ATL picks are still valuable and we can press the Hawks. Now KD just gotta put out there that he‘s only resigning with the Spurs

Not only gutting the team he goes to, but he has to realize the teams looking for him are in the WC. The WC is going to remain strong. What teams are in the East? Boston has lost Tatum for most of next year and is facing big cap problems. The Knicks are... pretty good, but aren't giant killers. Cleveland, the same. Pacers look good but don't look dynastic.

Staying in the East is the way to go.

If I was Milwaukee I'd throw the full MLE at NAW, find a PG for the BAE (maybe Brogdon if he ever gets healthy), resign most of their rotation players and add some guys on a vet min. Lopez/Giannis/Kuzma/NAW is still a decent starting line up. They just need a PG until Dame gets healthy.

Don’t know how credible this person is, but someone named “Ary” is reporting Giannis has told MIL he won’t be requesting a trade

Darn. I wonder if that will raise the price up for KD. I've really warmed up to the idea of getting KD on the Spurs now . I wasn't too interested before, but seeing the post in the other thread about the Suns being 33-29 when he played and 3-17 when he didn't, that makes me feel a lot better about it.

Giannis is emotional and someone who speaks his mind in the heat of the moment, not necessarily a good trait. He complains about not having enough help, yet there is a room for his brother in the roster. As great a player he is, I don’t know if his ego is good for Wemby’s development.

For Giannis it's a little bit like with Dame in Portland, except that he already ownes a ring.

If you'd ask Dame if he would stay in Portland if given a second chance, he would do so. He already was a Blazer legend even without the ship. Probably would have gotten a statue while remaining the good guy. Giannis probably learned from that? Why force his way out, just to get a shot at another ring, while he can build on his Milwaukee legacy?

I don't see him forcing anything and as much as I like him, the Spurs should not sell their long therm window for this ~ four year rush.
