and it's also history, that's a good thing to have i guess but i'd rather live in the present and enjoy the games i go to. look, i'm not saying the mavs pwn everyone or that they will always pwn the spurs from here on out but saying you have three rings everytime you lose a game is weak because it doesn't help the present spurs team...i don't bash the spurs unless it's a spurs/mavs gameday, i just like to analyze all the good teams which is why i post on here, and if i'm critical about certain spurs' plays or ballers, it's not in a hateful way

The Spurs couldn't have thrown the ball into Lake Michigan the way they shot today. What's up with Tony Parker? That was an uninspiring effort he gave out there.

Oh yeah, Tyrus Thomas looked great on defense for a rookie.

Why should people believe this is the Mavs year based on what they are doing now when they choked against a team they were so much better than last year.

you shouldn't believe this, only mavs fans should...as a spurs fan, you should believe that you're going to win it again...i agree that the mavs choked but there's no reason to believe that it would happen again...the spurs lost to utah in five games the season prior to winning their first championship back in 99 against an eighth seeded team from the east that didn't have ewing or johnson available for that series...same deal when you won the second championship...you lost to the lakers 4-1 the season prior to winning your second ring and yet if we went based on how ty you played in the playoff series' prior to those two rings we would've been wrong...besides, it takes time to build playoff experience and i'm not talking about first/second round and you're out type of play...mavs don't play the same silly basketball they played with nellie and while i didn't expect them to choke in the finals, i didn't even expect that they'd get to the finals so quickly with avery, learning his system and for the vets, adjusting to his game

there were so many reasons that factored into their loss in the finals last year...one of the main ones had to do with being afraid to go inside after some early hard fouls by shaq and co to determine who owned the paint....mavs reverted back to their old style and settled for stupid jumpers because they were too scared to go inside...while they could get away with this a couple of games, if the jumpers aren't falling, you're screwed (nellie ball)...i don't see this happening this season, harris is playing better defensively and is beginning to actually finish his shots when he drives (a pet peeve of mine last season), jho is much tougher on both ends and dirk doesn't always just go for the outside shot, he's won some games driving it, regardless of whether they are going to knock him to the ground...nobody knows who is going to win anything when it comes to the playoffs but i certainly don't think the mavs will lose the way they did in the finals, whoever they happen to go down to if it comes to that

Manny, what's funny to me is that I think I've visited an opposing team's fan forum maybe a dozen times in internet history. I think I've made around 11 total hits on foreign boards. I guess all these whining, immature losers coming in here talking totally and completely unfounded, stupid smack about the San Antonio Spurs is a true testament to the Spurs' greatness and all the envy they have planted in the fans of the inferior compe ion. Eh, this was your average Spurs woke up too early game. The team sleep walked and got beat. Happens every year.

Not much to take out of this game other than the Bulls are well-coached and Bonner not being around to spread the floor had more of an impact than I thought it would.

I have read multiple people from different teams today blame their loss on the start time of the game. It is a lame excuse. Spurs won on MLK day the past 2 years. No one team has an advantage over the other when they are both playing at an unusual time. And Chicago is even in the same time zone as SA.
