5 out of 6 game winning shots for Kobe Bean this year, 21_Blessings.

I am pretty sure he's close to record-breaking "game winners in 1 season".

Might be time for me to give Kobe some clutch props, he's been ice cold in those situations this season.

PS - Still shoots way too much with Pau and Bynum down there. He should never have equal or more field goal attempts than Pau and Bynum combined.

Can't deny that fact even though he is not very efficient on offense.

Congrats to Kobe Bryant for being the number 13 on the all-time list for field goals attempted. 390 attempts more to surpass Oscar Robertson.

    Kobe's a career 45.5% shooter.

He's raised his averages to 46% this year and leading the Lakers to #1 in the West.

    Very, very respectable percentages.

I'll take that any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

“Obviously we’re not making a concerted effort at pounding the ball inside,” Gasol said after the loss.

He said he’s not sure why this plagues the Lakers despite their consistent size advantage, but added pointedly: “It happens often

That's actually a stupid quote from the other thread. But since this is the Kobe all the time thread, I didn't respond there.

Thanks for bringing it up here.

There's nothing that says Gasol's talking about Kobe but it's been distorted into an Anti-Kobe thing by the haters

Getting the ball into the post (where Kobe often plays this year), is the job of the Point guards/point forward Fisher, Farmar and Odom. Everybody knows this... the haters just don't want to see it.

As reported a million times, Kobe plays in the post ALOT this year, Gasol is obviously not talking about Kobe.

As I said before, haters have to make up to diss on Kobe

You forget that Pau also said this:

Gasol was asked about Bryant’s new record and offered politically correct – and believably authentic – commentary (“I’m proud of him; I congratulate him”) before adding the kicker: “Now we can focus on winning games again".
    He's clearly talking about Kobe.

Kobe over-taking Jerry West as the highest scoring Laker of all time has been a distraction and a news story of the last 5 games or so. Look on the ESPN, LATimes and NBA pages...all about Kobe passing up Jerry West.

Now that Kobe's passed up Jerry, it's no longer a distraction and the Lakers can focus on winning games again. There is nothing malicious pointed at Kobe, Pau's tired of the media.

Players get tired of getting asked "Is Kobe the greatest Laker?" "What do you think of Kobe passing Jerry West?"

I don't know what Pau is tired of, all I know is that in that interview he was talking about Kobe.

I'd be interested to find out how many among all these posters who continue to bash Kobe and try to find every single thing to discredit him were also ones who claimed that they would stop talking about Kobe once Kobe won a le without Shaq or once Kobe was the go-to guy on a championship team. There were plenty of those Kobe detractors who said something to that effect, that once Kobe did win it all without Shaq as the main guy, they'd stop their hate. But, Kobe haters refuse to do so. They'll find any reason to hate the guy, to continue to bash the guy, to discredit his greatness.

Now, I can understand people hating on Kobe because he's an asshole or because he's not a likable guy. I even agree that he's selfish. I'll buy that sales pitch. But, people who just want to suggest he sucks or isn't all that great and continue to obsess over anything and everything Kobe is starting to get kind of scary.

I also realize some of it is reactionary to the Kobe knob slobbers. That's somewhat understandable. But, give the guy some credit. When he shoots 30 shots a game and shoots 30% from the floor he's a ballhog and any old average NBA player could do what he does. When he shoots 30 shots but shoots 60% from the floor, he's still a selfish glory hound... it's no matter what. Earlier this very year, Kobe had a game where he scored 44 points and still dished out 11 assists and only 1 turnover in a 6 point win, meaning he didn't stat pad. You know what, Kobe haters would still find a way to discredit it. "Hey, look at the compe ion though" or "LeBron would have gotten a triple double."

It's sick. I'm really beginning to think Kobe-hate is an actual disease...

Great post. to be fair I think some of the lastes hate stems from Sportscenter going all gaga over Kobe last night. If I didnt like Kobe I would of found it a bit much.
But at the same time they go ape over Lebron 24/7 some hate it many on here love it ...

I hate the the way the media slobs Farve but I dont keep posting the same crap about him on NFL threads ...Farve is great but all time greatest with ONE Super Bowl?

I know you need teammates but at the end of the day great player complememnt other great players and raise the level of role players and find a way to WIN MULTIPLE les if you do NOT or until you DO you are not the BEST end of story ...

BUT when Lebron does get his ...I will not hate on him or his game. surei hate the Chosen one tatoo and dance routines but I LOVE his game and his size/speed ratio ...

anyone that can not appreciate him or Kobe just don't appreciate greatness ..

ill tell you what Jam Stoned, if Kobe wins a back to back le this year with Finals MVP and a decent shooting FG% then I would stop hatin on the man.

Until then, he's just a one hit wonder no different than Chauncey Billups. A player that just got lucky he was on a talented team.
