Usually the busiest time before the deadline is up
How many of those are in the 2014 draft?
Usually the busiest time before the deadline is up
I wonder what the Pistons could ask for trading J. Smith...
Phoenix would be an ideal partner, 'cause they are full of assets, have a big expiring in Okafor and Smith looks like the perfect fit for their game and an up tempo play maker like Dragic...
I can't believe not even a mention of the Spurs the entire trade deadline. It's quite odd that early reports a month ago stated Spurs were "aggressive" and then when the actual trade deadline heats up over AS week, nothing.
I will be very interested to see any reports at the conclusion on any deals the Spurs actually attempted. As of now, it appears they really didn't even bother trying. Disappointing considering there are still so many team needs and Tim is playing great.
Several 76ers fans on their forum said they would be happy with a Bonner/Filler + 1st for Thaddeus trade..hopefully Hinkie feels the same way, tbh..
Marc J. Spears @SpearsNBAYahoo 2m
Kings still shopping anyone not named DeMarcus Cousins from the Maloofs regime, a source said.
Meh not surprising tbh after the fiasco that what the off season... Set the tone about what we could expect.
At least OKC hasn't done anything to bolster their chances. No team in the West has done anything of note yet.
I'd have interest in Jason Thompson as a 4th big, that's probably the only King I'd have to consider, tbh(he has been pretty ty lately, though)..I wouldn't give up a 1st for him, not worth it at all..
They've got Westbrook coming back tonight...which absolutely bolsters their chances.
That would really be a "Fire-sale".
That's the only thing that really worries me, tbh..
I won't be too upset if the Spurs don't make a move, I still believe their 8-man rotation can beat any team, but it would hurt if the Thunder/Rockets/Clippers get an upgrade..
If all it took was second round picks, I am a little disappointed that SA didn't at least try to improve where they could and get Hawes. As a fourth big over Ayres/Bonner/Baynes while it would not improve the team dramatically, it would have been better than what they have and seemed very attainable.
Not make or break obviously, but would have been a little boost to the big man rotation.
Hope something happened that we just haven't heard about yet..often times trades are filed and not reported to later..
Yeah didn't the RJ/Jax trade happen very close to the deadline? I don't remember.
Bad teams second round picks have nothing to do with our own second rounders, it's night and day...
Might be the right time to get a good deal on Derrick Williams...
Yea i think it was like right near the deadline.
Also wouldn't mind buying the Raptors first rounder with Mills + Bonner and taking back a scrub like Fields.
Wonder if teams have called about Mills more specifically New York.
This draft doesn't look like anything remarkable for the spurs so shopping picks is fine. Probably draft and stash anyway
what does NY have that we want? not much
I bet what is going to happen is you will hear reports after the fact that the Spurs tried to obtain "player x" but could not get a deal done.
I don't think it will be very honest reports, but more for the fans. The fact you have heard not one thing during the meat of the trade deadline is likely a very good indication of what the Spurs have tried to do. That and they are the least trading team in the NBA - literally.
I see that happening. Some teams dont want to pay more salaries...but this is expected to be a good draft...so maybe there arent many opportunities to go up.
