Pop never took this game serious to begin with by resting Kawhi. Absolutely no respect for the Sixers. If Kawhi plays then Spurs probably could rest all their starters in the 4th as they would have built up a 25 pt lead easily.

When are the spurs gonna start playing some good teams? This schedule is piss easy...
He's showing some maturity.
Pulling Parker for MVPatty. Pleasantly stunned.
I'll grab the cinamin Nono if you can get the flour.
Lets get this post game party going.
For reals i put dough on Spurs to win only. I knew all too well not to dough the cover.
Sheesh. I had to pause a compelling episode of Law and Order SVU.
He's out there making rookie mistakes thus deserves to be treated like a rookie. I'm just glad Pop didn't hesitate to bench Porker when he was playing hero-ball![]()
Parker +12 5-10 FG's
Patty +4 2-11 FG's
Did somebody say something about hero mode?
This is magnificent.
But they did build up a 16 point lead...they just couldn't hang onto it without Parker and Duncan on the court.
Pop used to do this several years ago pretty often...he would let the starters build up a lead, then put the second unit in and they would let the other team get back in the game and develop momentum...then he would put the starters back in and it would take them several minutes to get things back under control. Just like what you saw tonight.
Kyle Anderson - 3 steals - I thought he can't play defense????
Agree with all of you.
We played a lot of guys out of the rotation, and Lamarcus still not in synch with guys.
If anything, its good we saw some nice things from Kyle, RAy and Simms. We have to remember these guys are out of rhythm themselves and completely out of the rotation. Both Kyle and Ray made 3s, and hustled on defense. Simms was good for about 5 minutes. If anything Patty and Danny had very bad nights.
If tonight showed us anything, it's that the 2nd unit is without Manu Ginobili, and Kawhi is needed on that first unit. LMA needs to be more assertive as well. Also, we learned (again) that sitting 40 year old guys after three quarters and then bringing them back in cold isn't a good idea.
I thought Pop got a bit cute tonight, in true Pop fashion, by starting Kyle Anderson. There was almost no sense of urgency on the Spurs offense for most of the game, because Manu Ginobili isn't there on offense and Kawhi isn't there on defense.
Maybe it's what the team needs though, something to give Pop the go ahead to curse Danny out. Danny did play down to the level of the newbies though, instead of being a veteran presence on the court.
lol shortbus
Too re ed to see the difference between shooting open shots within the flow of the offense and dribbling the air out of the basketball before putting up a contested brick.
People keep talking about him like they don't watch these games. There is a reason Pop had him start, despite his relative lack of experience, he defended well (granted there are no stars on this 6ers team, but he was better than other options at SF not named Kawhi), he grabbed rebounds, and he made 2 3s from the corner. Good game from him.
Lol
Anderson filled in nicely and had assist
I think Pop takes it easy on his former assistant coaches. Leonard wasn't even at the game. I have an upper respiratory infection as well, and they can flare up in one night. I sat out the whole game.
Spurs won though, and Jonathon Scrubbins and Rasual Scrubler along with Kyle Anderscrub got some playing time. CJ was good.
No, I actually said that Parker played awfully when he was put back in when he was cold. You however, are seemingly incapable of posting a single thought that does not include an insult about a guy who actually played very well earlier in the game and had the best shooting percentage of any of the starters. He did play wretchedly when he was put back in, but your posts are so disgustingly one-sided and pathetically hateful that I just want you shut the up. Regardless of the topic or thread, your only comments include some negative reference about the same damn player again and again and again.
The former being Tony and the latter being Paddy. What's the problem?
I thought Kyle did well. He started slow but what can you expect? He's not very experienced and been on the doggie house. He did well by us. This game got close not on his account.
Actually just looked at the stats and he had the best +/- in the team. Meaning, regardless who he was playing with, we were not loosing momentum when he was in.
The Sixers were not going to let the Spurs lose this game. They had what, 8 turnovers down the stretch? It became almost intentional. Brett going for the 1st ever all 1st overall draft pick starting five.
You were making excuses for his play by bring up the fact that he was cold. Or by excusing his hero moments as 'trying too hard'.
You must be blind tbh.
Good stint by Simmons. Looked much better out there in a controlled environment
I could think of 4 or 5 other options I'd prefer. I've been far more impressed with Butler than KA early on
Who was 2-11 and who was 5-10 again? late in the 4th quarter not withstanding, who was bricking shots again? Not the guy shooting 50% from the field. BTW, the offense didn't magically get better when Paddy came in to relieve Tony.
