End of an era. Thanks for all the memories, Tim. Enjoy your retirement.![]()
WOW ESPN is barely covering it. Just MLB all star crap..
End of an era. Thanks for all the memories, Tim. Enjoy your retirement.![]()
They've been covering it all day tbh. It was all they talked about for about 3-4 hours this morning.
Thank you Timmy. It was a true honor to have watched you. Seeing you finally bring a le to San Antonio to 99, to all the playoff battles with the Lakers and then to the Heat, and then the redemption in 2014. There will never be another like you. Quite simply, thank you.
Thought Sportscenter would really go into it. Nothing much..
Hating the GPFOAT remarks from like everyone. He's so much more than that. Kevin Aronitz wrote an incredible piece on ESPN.com if anyone is interested.
Agreed. It gives room to idiots like Tim Colishaw on Around the Horn today to call him the greatest PF of all time but a borderline top 10 player. Of course he got roasted by the rest of the panel.
It diminishes how good of a player he really was. Easily a top 10 player of all time.
It's the Dallas homerism, Cowlishaw is an idiot.
It was a good 19 years...guess time for me to retire my account name![]()
Agree with you, not just on the court though. Tim changed the NBA, the culture, and how to build an organization in the modern Era. So many dudes have jobs right now not because of Pop but because of TD. He's a top 3 of all time not just because of what he did on the court, but everything else...damn this sucks
that. It really hit me right now. I thought I was prepared for it, but apperantly wasnt.(((
Cousins knows to respect now after this.![]()
it still hasn't really sunk in tbh.
Long live the great Timothy Duncan.![]()
^ this
Nobody was beating the 2004 Pistons in the Finals. They utterly dismantled the Lakers and would have beaten us rather handily. We only beat them the following year because Horry went into god mode in the Finals.
"not with a bang but a whimper" His retirement came quietly and without fanfare, but his career was cataclysmic as far as San Antonio sports fans and Spurs organization is concerned. I had already resigned myself to the fact that the Spurs would never win a le in my lifetime, but then came Tim and 5 les later I have become greedy and want a 6th though this one will have to come without the great Tim Duncan. Sad to see to him retire, but happy and blessed for the time we had him on the court representing our great city and team. GO SPURS GO!!!! Go Tim Go!!!! Here's to a great future for Timmy as he awaits his induction into the Hall Of Fame.
Not really a whimper...more like a quiet wave goodbye...
Nauseating watching Wilbon compare Kirby to the great Timothy Duncan.
"I don't see any separation between the two."
" If there's a tiebreaker it would be entertainment value and you'd have to give Kirby the notch there."

Stern on his tippy-toes![]()
It won't until you have to watch the Spurs without him. At least we have Tony still.![]()
