That way when the Spurs let Kawhi do his thing it's with the bench unit against opposing benches and when he reaches his minute cap the Spurs still have something to turn to offensively. If they keep this current status quo up they very well may lose the next 4-5 games.

I'm going to have to agree. Maybe play him off the bench if this minute restriction goes on for a long time.

For the record, I am for a minute restriction, but not for a whole month or anything that long. He's not coming off of a major injury like Rudy Gay or TP, but since he is coming back from a long layoff, he does need a bit of a minute restriction. I just hope Pop doesn't freaking go overboard with it.

You still have the same problem with everyone deferring to Kawhi who can only go for 15-20 mins a night for the forseable future. If they start off games with that mentality they'll keep it the whole game.
