Pop must realised that Spurs are a stage where they need to play and develop young players. Guys like Cunningham and Pondexter shouldn't be in the rotation at all.
It’s happening!!

Pondexter has never really been in the rotation and Cunningham seems to be on the outs.
I don't think that Metu and LW4 being called up mean anything long term this season. Gasol is on his way back, making Metu the 4th center and probably meaning that he is going to be spending a lot more time in Austin.
Walker may start getting some spot minutes for the time being.
Let's hope he plays and is productive so that Pop plays him again next game
He won’t see the court tonight unless it’s a blowout but still great to have him out there dressed.
It’s not rocket science. The guy is healthy. Spurs don’t have the best record and checking areas where they can improve. They will see what LW4 can offer without messing with the current chemistry. I like to see him take Q-Pon minutes and Dante if not against bigger SF/PF. I wonder why Moore wasn’t called? I also like to see what he can offer. While Eubanks show some inside moves and big body we might need against bigger Denver FC.
Um, we would need to sign some new players to practice 11-on-11.

I'm trying to think of a rookie player who made it to the big show on the basis that he could glide to the basket and make layups as his only talent.
Kiwi was more of a defensive player before eclipsing his offense skills
His eyes look like Nephew's eyes
Oh yeah let’s do this
Tony Parker? But he worked on his game and improve on his jumpers after his rookie year.
Parker launched more threes in his first few years than the latter part of his career, tbh.
indeed
I can''t see LWIV getting on the court with both Forbes and White playing well.
The only scenario is if Spurs play this as their second unit: White, Walker, Belinelli, Bertans, Poetl. This means Mills is out of the rotation.
Actually, he will only play garbage Time or if someones is injured. The team is playing pretty well and there is no reason To rush him.
I hope he will be in uniform next weeks instead of pondexter or cun’
Actually , I had hoped that Walker can play good defence and replace white in the starting line up. Lonnie had shown he can play as an off ball player and White can then run the 2nd unit which would be his long turn role as a Spurs.
Possible
Thanks for giving up on him Pop![]()
I was one of the last people that wanted to let him go (I'm usually one of the first ones to want someone gone. For example, I wanted Demar gone before he even got here), but during his last season with the Spurs, I was pretty much done with Lonnie. It was just too frustrating seeing him have a great game, then follow it up with poor ones. Up until his last season here, I wanted the Spurs to give him another chance as I felt he still had a lot of potential that I felt he could eventually reach, but for whatever reason he just wasn't reaching it here. I thought maybe a change in coaching or scenery was what could do it for him. I just wasn't sure if it was the coaching (Pop screwing around with him by benching him or limiting his minutes randomly) that was holding him back, or if it was all on himself.
I don't really want the Lakers to win it all (I guess deep down the rivalry is still there between us, but I won't be mad if they do somehow win it). I did say to my friend (he is a big Lakers fan) just after they made all those trades that I like the roster better and it's balanced out the team a lot more, and if healthy, they can make a run for the playoffs (he was actually a bit skeptical at that point if they'd even make the playoffs). I said getting rid of Russell Westbrook was a huge move. I wasn't quite sure if he was done or not, but I did say when the trade was first made, he doesn't fit the roster to play with Davis and Lebron due to not being able to shoot the 3ball. I still have no idea why they traded for him. He did tell me that he didn't think RW was was to blame and that he wasn't done, and it looks like he was right about that as he fit better with the Clippers and played better there (I guess we were both right in a way). And as most of us know, once you get in to the playoffs, anything can happen at that point, especially for a team like the Lakers that had injuries to their two best players, but anyway, back to Lonnie, hopefully Lonnie has turned the corner (I've said this so many times before, but maybe doing it in the playoffs is what makes the difference?) this time around. Once I gave up on him being an all-star level starter, I sort of envisioned him becoming like a lite 6th man version of Manu. More along the scoring side with his athleticism and shooting (I felt he had a pretty good jump shot, but then he'd have games where he'd be wildly inconsistent with it. I always thought the form was good/solid and it was more mental than anything), but was not ever going to match Manu with the passing and BBallIQ side of the game. Maybe he can still get there as an elite 6th man type of scorer.
Ham moved him further and further down the rotation as the season progressed. He's getting less playing time on the Lakers than he did on the Spurs. So, whatever. Not like Lonnie Rocket is going to start showing up every night. But....enjoy it while you can.
didn't forbes have a breakout game against the bucks (against the heat) when they won the le? i wonder where forbes is now.
Always liked this kid and his will to lift himself up throughout his life. Go LW iV!!
He played 25 games in Minnesota, and was waived in February.
