Nah you were way before me on Castle. I didn't come around until March Madness and the draft lottery tbh and then Dillingham's disappointing measurements were the last straw that pushed me to 100% on Castle.

They got a non NBA player in the dunk contest because it was diluted in recent years. And while the dude is impressive, the fact remains that he is just a dunk artist and not a full basketball player. All these props and paraphernalia means that he is just preparing himself year after year for the dunk contest and barely enough basketball skills.
Steph Castle's dunks were basketball dunks. In the game dunks. He should have won it.
But if the NBA want the dunk contest to be a showpiece, non basketball event, they should invite Chris Staples and Jordan Kilganon. They are the actual dunk kings of the world. Let them inna battle against MacClung.
I agrerwith all this except that Castle won. Castle at the very best should have gotte. A 3rd chance yes.
This weekend raised Castle's profile a huge amount.
Castle did well this contest - this entire weekend has raised his visibility a lot. Hope that this increased visibility and marketing comes with a more generous whistle during games as well, as it would really help take his game up another level.

This is the best Spurs all star weekend in… maybe ever? Castle get Rising Star MVP and getting runner up in a dunk contest, Wemby and CP3 literally breaking the bull skills challenge, tomorrow we get to see hopefully something compe ive. The 3 point contest was the most boring this year so far.

Also, I think if he continues his great run in the All Star game, the kid's confidence will move up to sky high. He will feel that he definitely belongs to the big league. Another incentive for him to keep working on his one weakness - outside shooting.
