Come on, Bonner won't be that bad if we keep him.
He at least shoots 80% from the FT line... maybe he can give Tim some pointers how 6'10" players should shoot FTs...
eh, this deal was done to get rid of Radoslav's contract. Is that not sinking in?

Rasho is one of my favourite players and San Antonio is my favourite team, so this does make me a little sad. I know he hated winters in Minnesota...
On the upside, I hated how he wasn't used to the maximum of his abilities, I thought he contributed a lot on defense but could have been used better on O.
What makes me mad right now is the fact that this may well be a signal that the Spurs are concidering small ball basketball. I hope I'm wrong and it's just the first a many moves that will again establish the Spurs as a defense first team (but then again Rasho's defense was not an issue, so I don't know). I never found running up and down the court exchanging baskets fun to watch. Tactically it's a weak kind of basketball.
I hope I'm wrong!
As for the haters in this thread, remember your words, because if the Spurs don't do some more stuff with the roster you might find yourselves missing Rasho a lot.
Srečno Rasho, upam, da te bom lahko še kdaj videl igrati v živo na NBA parketu!
(good luck Rasho, I hope I'll get the opportunity to watch you play live on a NBA court again).
Once again Marcus whines about the almighty dollar. What is it with you and wanting to pay millions of dollars to guys at the end of the bench?
yeah guy that shoots threes that well, and averages 7.6 points a game is "trash"I seriously hope Williams and Bonner don't end up on the roster by tthe time the season starts
these guys SUCK, they were trash in Toronto and will prob be even worse in SA
hopefully they are just pieces for trades
more genius observations.
Once again AHF is clueless. Yeah, this trade was really done to acquire Eric Williams. He's the ing centerpiece.
A quality bench is needed to win a le, bonner will help make our bench better.
Yeah, this trade isn't about getting Williams & Bonner. Those guys are spares. The trade is about clearing cap space in future and probably another move or two is coming. Plus, the Spurs will be getting that future draft pick.
Where did I say that?Once again AHF is clueless. Yeah, this trade was really done to acquire Eric Williams. He's the ing centerpiece.
You said:
My response to that is that, like Rose, you're complaining about us not paying 8 million a year for a guy to sit on the end of the bench and throw towels at sideline reporters.eh, this deal was done to get rid of Radoslav's contract. Is that not sinking in?
Sparky would rather the team kept Rose and Nesterovic and the team pay out 50 million in tax money.
Because it worked for the Knicks.
I said in the offseason when Rasho was signed that he was signed for way too much and for way too long. I was right.
And I say this now. Eric Williams will give some good contributions off the bench. Especially on defense.
I'll bet you right now that Williams won't be on the playoff roster next season.
Slomo- Rasho will get to have much more the role he has on his national team- as a veteran and a leader. People will be surprised at the Rasho who emerges. I have said for some time that Rasho will "fill up" whatever size and shape you give him to fill- just look what happened when Tim got hurt. Toronto will give him more of a role and he will fill it just like he does in every situation. Wait and see.![]()
He's going to hate those winters, though, but fortunately he has one of the finest collections of sweaters I have seen.
Here's a short interview with Rasho. Click
It's in slovenian, so I translated it. Here's what Rasho had to say:
"This is NBA. If you fill the needs of the team, you are part of that team. If not, you sit on the bench. I'm already used to that.
After the season there was a lot of rumours about trading me. I told my agent to keep an eye out for potential interest in my services. Yesterday they called me and told me I'm going to Canada."
Rasho also said he hasn't talked to his new employers yet about his role:
"We'll see about that. It's hard to say anything right now. It's a fact that this is going to be a new challenge for me. I just wanna play, that's all."
Rasho was the was the worst Spur big man since Dwayne Schintious(I probably spelled that wrong) and Bill Curley. Bonner is a hustle player who can shoot, and we all know how our 2nd round picks turn out, so this trade is great. Williams is old but we will probably trade him to another tean that could use his contract even more than us. (Malik for Williams anyone?) Also we are supposedly bringing our young French 7 footer that we drafted last year Ian Mahinmi, hes like 19 or 20! Besides that, I will scream it all day, Chris Wilcox is a Spur waiting to happen. 6-10, 23, averaged 14 and 8 second half of last season with the Sonics. Remember when he dunked on our whole team last year? It still gives me the chills
Damn. I posted that comment after a gripe about what the Spurs got in return, as if the Spurs made the trade for a reason other than to dump Radoslav's contract. RIF.
Go about the Spurs not letting Mohammed get toasted for 50 by Dirk somewhere.
Reviewing some Sonics boards, it doesn't seem likely Seattle gives up Wilcox.
Two words: Samaki Walker.
Samaki huh? I think I can beat that, what was that big crappy Mongolians name we had a couple of years back. Oh yeah Ming Battier, beat that
Yeah, Mavs drafted him for some reason. I don't miss those days.
SA now get two scrubs.....
Or, actually, he's saying, "Don't sweat whether or not Bonner and Williams are any good. Dumping the lead weight on the team's payroll that was Rasho by itself justifies the trade because of the flexibility it may create for other roster moves this summer."
At least that's how I intepreted it, given that SPARKY started a thread on that very subject.
that, Rose contributed immensely. We could have used him this year in the playoffs against Dirk
