... nobody cares about the large handed ones
I did. I don't know how people could complain about not having to wrap their normal sized hands around those pint-sized s-controllers. I had a couple of the s-controllers that I never used. I played with the original controller through the life of the xbox.

However I do like the 360 controllers...first off I had taken quite a bit of time off of playing games and when I got the 360, the new controller had nothing to be compared to. Plus I love the wireless aspect. I still have to remind myself there are no wires to get tangled in when I get off the couch.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is a blast online...but you have to play with good folks.

I never had a problem with the original controllers. Maybe if I was a little kid, it would be difficult. I've never even touched a S controller. Kinda funny that they made them for the Japanese, so I guess they all have baby hands out there.

I, as well. If you own a PS2 (or a PS3 if GOW2 is backward compatible), you owe it to yourself to own this game.

Its absolutely one of the finest pieces of art in the video game genre. Truly a game of all-time note to be held in the same esteem as Zelda: OoT, Mario 64, Super Metroid, etc.

I am on my first play thru (just got past the Atlas part...sue me, I work 15 hours a day) and am already looking forward to replaying it again, and again (especially if you get to keep you upgrades).

Halo 3's release date has been rumored to be pushed up to the end of September . That according to ign.com

Also NBA 2k7 is getting some special jersey's for St. Patty's Day. To get them you gotta go to the cheat menu and enter "tpk7sgn".

Hectic. Very, very hectic. Once you get the gist of how it works, it becomes ever more challenging just to keep up with the shear amount of plants, animals, bugs, food chain, etc available to you.

I think VP would have been better suited to a PC...the control scheme sucks for controllers when I think about what it could have been with mouse and keyboard.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I am inclined to state that half the "hectic nature" of VP is attributed to its control scheme. You always feel like youre fighting an uphill battle to propogate a garden.

With all that said, its highly addiciting is you have patience. For todays twitch oriented gameplayers, VP is not up to snuff. But if you enjoy slower paced RPGs, or methodical type games like SimCity and Total War, the pacing is comparable.

Its when you get comfortable with the enviroment that your expectations rise and therefore its gets harder and harder to achieve those expectations. A very intriguing dynamic in that way.
Thanks for all the info. I'm thinking I'll get it in the summer when I'm out of school.

has anyone used the virtual console on the Wii, how is the gameplay? Does it feel like the original games. I'm mostly interested in if Super Mario Bros feels right.

it feels a little thinner but longer than the NES controller. It's better if you have a gamecube controller or 2 for the SNES games and N64 games it carries.

what about the gameplay, do the jumps feel right, the speed? I heard some games get "stretched" for widescreens?

you should save the money you spend on coke and upgrade to a big screen.

The reason I'm researching is that my fiancee wants an original NES with Super Mario Bros, which I have for her already, but I thought I'd surprise her with a new Wii also, but the controller looks a little weird for old-school gaming.

I know that, but still, I'm used to the sharp corners of the original, ah well, I guess it'll have to be an acquired taste. I love the learning curve and the "getting used to" feel of a new console.

fired up the old NES on the HD TV bigscreen. Fantastic! Has anyone had any experience with the nes zapper gun on a newer TV? Will the infared work like it did back in the day?

You all with 360s should probably check your Xbox Live accounts.

ZDNet reported that hackers accessed Bungie servers and were either taking purchases or purchasing extras using other people's accounts.

Dammit. TMNT the 360 game only got a 6/10 on IGN.
Told you it looked ty. Those screenshots and videos looked ok for a beta, but not for something going into production.

Ah, I missed that post. I still have yet to see a Wii anywhere for sale. I can say I'm not actively looking for one, but I went to 2 Best Buy's and 2 CompUSA's in the past 5 days and no Wii's in sight. I see tons of 60GB PS3's. CompUSA has the 60GB PS3's for $540, but only if it's a store that is closing.

I picked a few up at launch, as gifts. Gotta have connections.

But I have seen a few around.
