I watched/listened this discussion on various programs last night. The bottom line is that all the (non-Phoenix) NBA guys seem to think that:

    1. Bowen is a great defender

    2. Stoudemire is a whiner, and a rather stupid one at that

    I'm satisfied with that.

Oh, by the way, if anyone gets sent to prison for beating up those morons Vexler and Pasacrita, I'll bring you cookies and milk every Friday. Not that I'm condoning such a violent act or anything.

What a whiner. Manu gets popped by Kobe earlier in the season and actually defends him. Amare barely gets grazed by a foot touching his shoe and he goes whine to the media.

Apparently, anybody who still complains after seeing the video from youtube is just a bag homer, but that didn't stop them.

what a ing to complain like that. bowen is notoriously clumsy with like that. he tried to get to the play and stopped short when amare threw down that dunk and his legs flared out. it wasnt on purpose at all. it was him trying to stop from being dunked on head. what a cry baby

bowen is not a saint, but accidents happen. people always say there is this huge history with bruce, but really there have been a grand total of 5 incidents (over 700+ games), 3 of which involve tough guys vince and ray allen. francis and crawford both said it was just an accident, and guys like kobe and tmac say bruce just plays hard.

fans just love to hate bruce and will blame him for anything. a guy could twist an ankle in another state and it will be bruce's fault. those people thinking that bowen turned and decided to sever amare's achilles tendon using his toe in 2 seconds have never played basketball before. its just bowen trying to cover and pulling back because he was late. In fact, the so called evidence video clearly show bowen removing his foot from amare's landing space, but of course the haters argue bowen was going for the severed tendon instead of his usual broken ankle (again, in fact, the only injuries caused by bruce have been 3 mild ankle sprains, vince missed a month and a half, which he exaggerated to "half a season," and francis was out like 10 days- ray for all his crying missed less than half a game because of bruce bowen fouling him) and yet people act like bowen has cut people's careers short.

i challenge all the "its so obvious he does it again and again" people to find more than 6 months worth of injuries over as many seasons and as many players as they like, so long as they are caused by bruce bowen. good luck!

ps: might as well end the thread here because the whiners will never take the time to find that evidence, they will just continue to post the same crap... "he does it all the time, vince, allen, francis, crawford, ... , etc , uh, Amare, ... , did i say etc all ready?"

amare the vagina. wow...this guy is a specimen, he should just suck it up and ball.

he's ing about a non issue and manu holding his leg. holding goes on all the time. a foul is not a foul unless the ref sees it. he should know that. when you play in the paint there is all sorts of holding and grabbing going on. refs could call fouls every time down the floor if they wanted too.

i hope we blow their winy asses out for the next 2 games....da

Sure someone is dirty and a coward for pulling sneaky crap, just that it wasn't Bowen, but all those people who disappeared after getting owned with evidence showing Bowen was innocent all along, instead of jumping in and own up.
Now get ready of the wave of people coming in and say that it was just a joke to rile up the Spurs fans.

Amare, even your coach D'antoni thinks you're a moron:
"The league's going to look at it and they're going to examine past tendencies and stuff," he said. "I have no idea what Bruce Bowen does. I don't really care. I don't want to get into it because it's so minimal that it's no big deal. It really isn't."

I can't stand Bowen! He gets away with more grabbing and holding than anyone in the league. You can tell in the video that he is doing something unnatural with his foot. I can't believe the league lets him do that .

Amaré throws gas on flames of series

    Dan Bickley
    The Arizona Republic
    May. 11, 2007 12:00 AM
This volatile dance with the Spurs has (a) drawn blood; (b) made the trainer a lead story; and (c) forced Mike D'Antoni to hit the brakes on his celebrated system.

    Now comes the hard foul.

"I think the Spurs are a dirty team," Amaré Stoudemire said.

    How interesting.

"(Manu) Ginobili, during the regular season, he kneed me in the crotch on purpose," Stoudemire added.

As you've probably heard by now, the mouth has roared again. Stoudemire torched the Spurs' Bruce Bowen like flaming cheese after Thursday's practice, and then took a few swipes at Ginobili for good measure. And for the third time this postseason, the Suns star made his coaches cringe in unison.

If you thought San Antonio was a tough place to win before Stoudemire's verbal assault . . .

"I just think that Ginobili and Bruce Bowen are guys that are dirty, and it's not good for the game," Stoudemire said.

At issue is a play in the second half of Game 2, when Stoudemire had a free break to the basket and easy dunk awaiting after a gorgeous, no-look pass from Boris Diaw. Bowen comes from the backside late, and appears to kick at Stoudemire's lower legs as his opponent leaves the floor.

In real time, you'd never notice the tactic, the sign of a dirty player who truly understands his craft. But in superslow motion, you can see that it's an egregious act. And when you go watch it for yourself on Youtube, you'll be amazed at the number of video clips from other players who have taken great exception to Bowen's defense in the past.

"I've dunked on guys. I've been dunked on," Stoudemire said. "So I know how it is to play hard out there. That wasn't a case of someone playing hard. It was a case of trying to injure someone, plain and simple."

And to prove that Bowen has had no intention of playing basketball in this series, Stoudemire offered up this beauty: "Game 1, he was just out of control. I mean, Bruce Bowen's normally under control, but he ran directly into me. I said, 'Man, you're going to get somebody hurt out here. He was like, 'Shut up.' I was like, 'Man, I'm just giving you some cautions. You're going to get somebody hurt.' But he wasn't hearing it."

Whether Bowen deserved a one-game suspension hardly matters. It's the tough talk from Stoudemire, and whether calling out two key members of a championship outfit is a wise maneuver before the biggest weekend in recent memory. After all, the Suns need to win a game in San Antonio if they're to advance, and this saucy outburst will further charge an already rabid fan base.

For the record, D'Antoni said he had no problem with Bowen's play. And he took no responsibility for Stoudemire's words, either - "I can't make him not say it" - even though some precautionary advice may have been in order here. Stoudemire's attack surely was no accident, and probably designed to get the NBA's attention.

You can't have stars like me taken out by one-tool players like him.

While Stoudemire would usually be chided for his loose tongue at such a precarious time in franchise history, he was the guy who went through all that rehabilitation, not us. He was the one who came back from microfracture surgery to play in all 82 games this season, and the more you see that play in slow motion, the more you realize the potential danger.

Stoudemire watched the replay many, many times. And by the end, it had made him "very, very, very upset."

This much is certain: While some Spurs will be livid and others won't care, these inflammatory comments will put Stoudemire in the spotlight and on display, where he most always shines. It will make the referees pay closer attention to the contact level on Saturday, and that could actually benefit the Suns. And this airing out of the opponent has put Stoudemire's teammates on high alert, practically assuring that energy and focus won't be a problem in San Antonio.

Besides, Stoudemire once boldly predicted the Suns would dispatch the Lakers with relative ease. The coaches winced.

But Stoudemire hasn't let them down yet. And I prefer him - and the Suns - with at ude and a big side of nasty.

Bruce is just doing his job. His job is to try to make shooters miss. What Bruce does is really no different than fans clapping bang sticks together to throw off a guy at the FT line.
