Beno is mentally weak to hang with the Pop era Spurs, that's why he failed in San Antonio, because he didn't like getting yelled at. Beno can around with Theus's so called 'strict' philosphy and not get reprimanded at all.

I think its hilarious that so many people are "surprised" by Beno tonight. I'm not going to say I thought he was going to score his career high, but give me a break people, its well known that Beno was (is) a good ball player. More than a few people felt he was a better pure PG than Tony.

NVE year ed him up, and the Spurs. End of story. I didn't like Darius Washington originally, but I think he could be pretty good and decent replacement. Problem his, he a shoot first PG, and they already have that.

I cannot believe Tony Parker did not shut down that stinky pussy Beno. Timvp will not be pleased.
Not only that, but Beno mostly shut down Tony. Kory I thought Tony could penetrate at WILL against any team and any defender....well, perhaps everyone except Beno, the all-star defender that bEno is....i am pissed but that was just bad basketball from spurs. No gameplan, no poise, just lot of running around out of control. Guess we were due for a bad game.

Seems like Elson could have helped out under the basket early on in the game if given the PT.

I've never been more disappointed in Parker. He had a chance to dominate against the worst defensive PG not named Nash, and he let him off the hook. I never thought the Spurs would let Beno go off like that, show some ing pride, at least enough pride to beat down the fool who never showed up to play while on your team and talked about you behind your back overseas. After all that he said this summer and the broken finger bull I don't understand not playing this one with playoff intensity and going balls out to that up. Sometimes the Spurs are too nice.

I have to say that when Pop benched Beno in the 2006 playoffs in favor of VAn Excel and STAYED With VAn Excel game after game when it was clear to anyone with one eyeball that Excel was finished, that really must have killed any confidence Beno had and frustrated him to a point where he became very negative.
Not so much the playoffs....but the whole season.

    Not the real fans
    hey congrats.

I promise the Spurs will toast your team the next time we meet. Warn Beno that 27 pts he got against against us tonight will be his highest scoring stat against this team in the next 10 yrs.... it will never happen again.

I mean how many ty games & SERIES did Parker have in his first 3 to 4 years in the league (and he still has clunkers like tonight even now), yet Pop never benched Parker. With young players, you need to play them even if they are making some mistakes and i just feel that Pop didn't manage Beno properly. I understand that Beno didn't respond properly but then it's possible that Parker would also have sulked and turned negative, and lose all his confidence if he was benched for prolonged period of time or entire playoff series like Beno was.

Not defending Beno for his poor play in the past few years but i always thought he had talent and unfortunately it didn't work out in San Antonio. because by the time he left, he was a broken young man.

    I'm with ya..

I know Pup is a great coach but seriously, he does some weird things, oyu guys have tha oldy Finley as a starter and Ginoblili on the bench??? Tiny Parker is not a must have player but Pup is freaging inlove with him.. that is not even willing to give some relevant minutes to any back up PG.

You can slam Beno all you want...believe me, I cussed the guy's work ethic constantly when he was here. But, he's starting to convince me that he can play solid NBA ball in the right environment. I mean, he only been in the Kings system for a few weeks and he's looking pretty damn good. When he gets familiar with their system and his teammates, he just might be a tough out. He may not be a Spurs kind of player....but he threw up, what? 27 points against that terrible Spurs defense? He doesn't look like a scrub, is all I'm saying.
