Since when does an NBA player care what the fans say about him? Fans are fickle. Fans are going to say whatever they are going to say. If it mattered then players like Stephan Marbury would have left NY a long time ago cause they hate him up there. There are a lot of other hated players too. Ron Artest got flamed a lot and so did Stephen Jackson of the Warriors. Kobe got bashed. Everyone gets bashed. Players in the NBA don't have a lot of say in where they go or whether they get traded or not. Even if Spanoulis came to the Spurs there is no guarantee that they wouldn't trade him at some point to say..the Portland Trailblazers. So how can you try to dictate whether to come or not? The NBA is a business. There are even fans on the Rockets calling for them to trade T-Mac and Yao. How stupid is that??
If Vassilis only care about money and whether the fans love him or not, then I'd say he needs to stay at PAO. If he wants to compete and play in the NBA with the worlds best players, then he needs to realize it's not easy. Nothing is guaranteed. If he comes to the Spurs, he then needs to prove himself on the court for playing time.
