Nope. We're done fixing up the roster for the season.

. I came home and continued reading this thread from where I left off before I went to work. I was on page 15 when I left and as I read through the darn thing I saw that fake post and thought it was a done deal. Then see we got Kurt Thomas which is a bit of a let down. I was excited about TOTAL LOCKDOWN D with Artest.
We never had enough for Miller or Artest after their GMs got raped in previous trades.
You and Ex and I are some of the few who see it.
It's too bad, because Artest has Hall of Fame level talent. If you saw the Sac-Portland game last night, Artest came in and single-handedly shut down a Trailblazers team that was on fire in the fourth. They were on like a 13-0 run, Kings call timeout, Artest checks in, and all of a sudden Martell Webster and Brandon Roy cannot get a decent shot off. Ron's a time-bomb though.
Just FYI, I heard today that Artest has been on his medication for almost 2 years straight now. This might be the longest he's been on his meds since he's been in the NBA.
Sounds like propaganda to increase his trade value.![]()
I didn't hear it from anyone in the media and don't think it's been printed in the media. I asked someone close to him.
It floors me how so many Spurs fans are willing to trade integrity for talent. You want root for a guy that was fighting with fans, missed a game b/c his album was coming out, almost killed his dog because he just stopped feeding it? I don't care if he goes to Denver or to whoever - I'm so glad he won't be on the Spurs. The guy is a headcase and pretty much just a bad person. His play might fit with Spurs, but his personality would never fly with our core's personality - if you say it would you do not know this team!
He's manic/depressive more than he's a bad person.
But it's not like the Spurs have never had a criminal/headcase on their roster.
Good to know.
BTW Kori, I don't hold it against Artest that he has a clinically diagnosed mental illness. I have had a friend who was bi-polar, and a girlfriend who suffered from clinical depression. I just don't think Artest's selfishness on the court (as do ented), and volatility, would fit well with the Spurs' team-first philosophy. It's a moot point now anyway, I guess.

if you do not feed your dog to the point of starvation, you are a bad person - just my opinion.
Rodman might have thought about killing himself (even had the gun in his mouth,) but he was more about getting attention than he was crazy. Artest is the kinda crazy that can lead to jailtime.
Well, it was fun while it lasted.
The Spurs still have never traded for that star-quality player, but maybe they aren't that desperate.
Man, Artest would've been a nice coup, for that cheap.
Ahhh.
I'm cool with Kurt Thomas.
It shows they want to address an immediate issue at PF/C.
The "insider" from realgm celtics message board has added:
I guess that Spurs like Mahinmi after all.Ian Mahimi isn't going anywhere. he's next in line and we all know the success the Spurs have had developing foreign players. they take too much pride in it to trade Ian. Plus he's having a terrific season in Austin. He's only a year or two away from being a nice contributor to a championship caliber team who keep in mind, will be reloading around tim, Tony, and Manu after this current championship run.![]()
