    WOW what a game!!!

First, the intensity by Manu! The passes between the legs, crazy behind the back passes! Timmy's bank shots! Floaters by Tony!

I especially LOVE the play between Manu and Tony...the pass between the legs, then to Tony, Tony behind the back pass to Manu, then Manu to Tony! Awesome play by Manu and TP, one of their best.

HUGE props to Timmy! Amazing game by the MVP! Props to Ime as well. He's just an amazing edition to the Spurs! today, a huge game by Udoka! Props to Brent and Finley also! Props to Manu and Tony!

It's like the whole team came back...really refreshing to see!

And Manu's 8 steals...wow, is that his career high???

Love Pop's answer to the reporter about Manu..."he's Manu Ginobili"...

What does that have to do with the Lakers being unimpressive?

    Nothing.

The Lakers are unimpressive, as are their fans.
Yeah, even though I think the Lakers have improved as a confident team, I believe we still match up well with the Lakers.

Lakers have only looked good with Bynum against a top tier team like the Suns, because they play no interior D (Al Jefferson), and/or D in general.

As long as we don't have to double Kobe, our D makes it easy to beat this team. I think Ume just compounds the problems more, because if he continues to improve as a stopper..well, it's bad news for the league, not to mention he's starting to be as confident as Bowen from behind the arc.

Tim usually puts up 15+ boards when we play small ball.
    thanks for telling me that.

but, we won't be playing small ball all the time.

Yeah, this is the first game blog in a while, where Spurs fans are proud of our team's performance.

I think it's the first game where they all played with heart.

Good game guys, we completely collapsed in the 3rd and that cost us the game. You don't spot the Spurs 10pts coming into the 4th and expect to win.

Still, not too impressed with the Spurs. Playing at home, fully healthy, against a depleted team missing its 2nd best player and a ton of key role players. Phil gave you the 3rd quarter and we lost the game because of it. No subs utions made, no timeouts called, complete raping in the 3rd and the game was done.
I'm sure that if the Spurs won by 760 points your horse excuse would've been b/c you have some guys hurt.

    Eat a nut er

Without a doubt. Cause it ain't just about scoring. It's about scoring, rebounding, defending, blocking and making your team-mates better. You add all that up, and then top it off with 4 Championships, two MVP's, and 3 Finals MVP's....and it is no contest. Timmay is da man.

Nope, Phil gave you that 3rd quarter. He refused to call a timeout, refused to make subs utions that would have stopped the bleeding. He does this all the team and it makes every Laker fan nuts. We've lost at least 2-3 games this season because of it. We'd have 10+ pt leads coming into the 4th and Phil would leave a struggling bench unit in the game and let the other team come back in until it was too late to fight it off.

Nothing the Spurs did impressed me tonight. They can still play great D, but the offense just doesn't look great. If we had Bynum and our guys we would have won this game easy. That 3rd quarter would have never happened.
11 3 pointers and the offense didn't look great.

We beat NOH by 30 points on the road.

I can't wait until the game we play at the end of the season. Bynum will be back and both squads will be going at it at full strength. Should be a great game!

Seriously, you guys played well in the 2nd half and deserved to win this game. I still think if we had made the proper subs utions we could have helped avoid that 31-12 quarter, but whatever. Phil does this all the time so I'm not surprised. I'm happy that we were able to compete though, minus that 3rd quarter. I was expecting a blowout the whole way through.

No contest at all. Timmy is the MVP because he makes everyone better, and he's the most unselfish superstar in the league...he has no problem passing the ball or in today's game, getting his points...His rebounding is amazing...his defense is top notch. And absolutely, it's not about who has the most points or the better stats...it's all things that go together to make the full package...

What I don't like about Kobe's play tonight, was how easily he reverted as an individual player, when pushed.

He was pretty much dangerous in the 1st half... playing the team game, creating for his teammates, grabbing his offensive rebounds, 4 assists in the first half... then when he tried to start rolling in the 3rd quarter, to get some of his only to miss the first three against Bowen's D, he ended up forcing it a lot, and being a complete non-teammate in the 2nd half with only one more assist in the second half.

After that, he was 1 TO shy of a triple double to finish the night.

I'm not about to disgrace the Lakers because they lost tonight. They really are a better team this season. If I'm a Suns fan I'd worry facing them in the 1st round. Because the Suns lacked defense this yr. IMO.

The Spurs didn't impressed me as of late so I'm so happy we finally had beaten a winning team after a month.

hope this will continue and a start of a winning streak. It's almost February, the rodeo season.

Ok answer this for me. If Tim Duncan was taken out of the game do you think you'd still win?

That's what Bynum means to the Lakers. When you have to rely on Kwame and Mbenga you just aren't gonna win many games against good teams.

I still think the Lakers are a mid-tier team, even [I]with [/I ]Bynum. They're like a NOH, Houston, level team.

Michael Jordan ed up a lot of heads. He was so outstanding that he made people think shooting guards could be true franchise players, and that Championship teams could be built around shooting guards, and that shooting guards (like Kobe) should be considered for the MVP. Guess what people? Jordan was the EXCEPTION THAT PROVES THE RULE. Franchises should be built around big men. Championship teams are built around big men. MVP's are big men. George Mikan, Bob Pet , Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Dave Cowens, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Willis Reed, Bill Walton, Wes Unseld, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan. Those are your franchise players. Those are your MVP's. Get it through your f-cking heads. Guards and small-forwards like Kobe, T-Mac, Michael Redd, AI, Nash, Kidd, Lebron, etc etc etc are not gonna get it done without a dominant big man. Ain't gonna happen. There was only one Michael Jordan. One. He's gone.

    Tim Duncan = MVP.
