SISU............ I really liked this flick. A git gory, but damn good action packed flick. 9/10
I really need to finish watching that movie. My lady hates Tom Cruise for no damn reason so it's hard for me to catch his movies these days.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
I did 4DX on this. I'm a Bond Guy that hasn't watched much of MI series. I really enjoyed this film. The whole experience was good in terms of seats/action. MI is interesting they don't klll anyone but the plot twist, story and camera shots is great.
Barbie
Definitely a girl-power flick. I've read a few articles already by people flying off the handle claiming it disrespects men, etc. Overreaction, imo., as expected. Lots of laugh out loud moments, some tear jerker moments, Margot Robbie is a knock out, and Ryan Gosling was hysterical. I wouldn't expect guys to rush out to see it.

We saw Oppenheimer this weekend as well. Wow. I didn't know what to expect going into it at all - I'd never even seen a trailer - and I didn't even want to miss any of it to go pee. So damn Nolan for making it 3 hours. Lol. The cast was exceptional.
9/10
We saw Mission Impossible last weekend ... it's been a good month for movies so far.
I need to get around to watching the three Atlas Shrugged movies (again, in the case of the first two). First two were only available at the now-defunct Bijou at the time they were released. I barely remember them. I remember them being released when the "Heatles" were in prime form. We never got to see the third of the trilogy.
Probably find a bootleg or something just like with the Sound of Freedom and 2,000 Mules
also, rewatched the full 2,000 Mules on Friday night. I give it an 8/10 because there was some legitimate do ented evidence of random sheeple with masks and gloves (likely getting paid) stuffing mail in ballots in dropboxes in Oct-Nov 2020. The part with the guy with the dog stuffing a bag of about 30 of them in broad daylight and the one guy who stuffed so many in at 4am that half of them fell out on the first attempt, that was pretty damning.
Still doesn't affirm for me that those efforts were enough to sway the whole election, though it's about a coin flip as to if it is or not. D'Souza did seem to inflate the numbers on the second effort after determining that after the first round of mule ballots that there weren't enough to overturn either Wisconsin or Michigan. Also he failed to acknowledge that likely 100% of the mailed in mule ballots probably weren't Biden votes, even if a large majority were, it's unrealistic that over 90% actually were.
contra: Sound of Freedom
not every movie that is pegged as "woke" is bad, either. I legitimately enjoyed Avatar (the first one, haven't gotten to see the second yet) and liked Black Panther 2018 decently well, despite the fact I'm not a Marvel or DC fan.
i legitimately HATED blade runner 2049 though, saw that one in theater and big time waste of money... futuristic garbage
I'd like to see Sound of Freedom, too, that one's next on my list.
As far as men going to see Barbie, I meant more because it's a girly-pink-dolly movie, although I can see where it might make a few Neanderthals uncomfortable
My husband went with me, and I think besides him there were maybe 3 or 4 other guys in the packed theater. He thought it was maybe a little over-the-top in places but overall thought it was funny, fwiw.
Good venue to meet single 30 year old women, or just a bunch of radical hippie feminazis with unnatural dyed hair?
girly, pink, dolly isn't necessarily a bad thing
Men are attracted to women in their "feminine" energy, after all
It's not the same as saying women shouldn't play sports, drive, compete, work, be awesome in their own right.
From what I saw, mostly cool-looking chicks (of age) pick-upable.![]()
SW please don't interact with Andy it only encourages him
Oppenheimer 8/10
Outstanding acting really all around. It is essentially two story arcs making the experience strange in the standard the 3 act arc format. Despite that I was engaged the entire time. Well done.
I'm very disappointed I'm not seeing a post release trailer for Oppenheimer that says something like "The reviews are in and critics agree, Oppenheimer is the bomb!"
Same way all non-Trump 2020 election campaigns ed up by not using "Hindsight is 2020" as a slogan. I guess you don't need cool slogans when you have "the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud network in the history of American politics" running your campaign though.
Haha, saw the Mission Impossible last week and loved the action. Will probably see Oppenheimer tomorrow since Santikos has $5 Tuesdays, and will be taking my niece to see Barbie later in the week. Ben Shapiro's butthurt makes me think I'll like the movie.![]()
They cloned Tyrone 9/10
Original story, great cast, great acting, funny.
Oh man when I saw the preview for that before John Wick knew I had to see that one.
We watched a YouTube of Tom Cruise preparing to do that motorcycle jump off the cliff. I have no idea how he still does all of those stunts himself, especially at his age. Great movie.
Shapiro's rant only makes me want to see Barbie again, again, and then buy it when it comes out streaming. Lol
I will say I'm happily surprised by the number of guys' reviews I've read so far that have liked it. I really didn't think *they* would. Besides Ben Shapiro, anyway.![]()
Oppenheimer 9/10
I don't think I've ever seen a film this long that didn't feel long at all.
Why do you hate Ben Shapiro?
Be specific.
I didn't say I hated him, I inferred that I hated his 40+ minute rant on how much he hated the movie. His delivery of it came across as insulting to those that actually enjoyed it.
Yeah, I don't get it. A 40 minute rant about that. Especially if it wasn't just completely awful like "Step Brothers". But even then it should be like a 2-4 minute rant and not 40.
Okay... so I marathoned Atlas Shrugged the movies from 2011-2014 last night. Stayed up until 6:30am. Main bugaboo was for some stupid and odd reason it was the only trilogy I've ever seen where there were literally THREE DIFFERENT ENTIRE CASTS for the same exactly storyline. And a lot of different directors.
And why is it that they couldn't manage to keep the same cast within a three-year span (Top Gun kept as many as possible in a 40 year span between the two movies) or at least most of them? I mean you understand some things like Dumbledore, but it's not like people died. Also, the third movie wasn't well done at all, and the love arc was poorly done in the third movie.
Atlas Shrugged Part I: 9/10. Apart from making a singular, well-done 3 to 3 1/2 hour movie, similar in length to the original Avatar or the 13 Hours Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which I believe would have been appropriate for Atlas Shrugged. The first installment of the movie was very well done, directed, and casted. The main characters were powerful in their roles and the supporting actors were solid as well. This was easily the best and most well-done part of the trilogy that didn't need to be a trilogy, which is unfortunate.
