That's what I am seeing. They're using technology and confirming it with math and multiple pictures. That's not the same as an actual measurement. But it looks like he really is having a growth spurt. I prefer direct measurements to inference. I took more than a few math classes, so I trust math. Here I would like direct evidence by measuring him. If he is 7'6"-7'7", would it actually matter? I'm going to say the difference in height for him in this instance would not matter. It's just crazy.

It’s not a problem, but I do hope he quits growing. He is at least 7’6’’ to my eye. With his skills and fluidity, he’s got legit goat potential. God watch over his health tbh

First thing to do: make sure that he doesn't have a failure in I don't know which gland that continues to make him grow as if he hadn't stopped puberty (there is a case where a guy, short in adolescence due to a tumor, never stopped growing all his life once the tumor removed).

Second thing to do: just strengthen your muscles. No need to make him gain weight. Keep Wemby healthy? KD type diet.

Third thing to do: welcome real robust interiors to push Victor to the wing.

    - Wemby leading per par
    - Crazy how Amen is getting all the hype, but his twin might turn out to be better than him.
    - Hate how good OKC are at drafting. They traded down to get Cason Wallace..

I'd assume for point 1, he's already had all those tests done? He would have had them done when he's younger, wouldn't he? Is that something you should also be re-testing with someone his height?

And for point 2, just curious, is KD on a specific diet?

I hope so. But keeping some of this information (on its size) also opens a little too much to all hypotheses. The problem for doctors today must undoubtedly be to define what cons utes normality for an individual whose body is already exceptional. It seemed to me that he was already the tallest person in France, so it is difficult to find similar examples. His parents are tall, so the most likely hypothesis is that his growth is “normal”. But since we probably have too few examples of athletes (not just tall individual used as players) of this size, we enter into the unknown in what the human body can and cannot withstand.

Regarding KD, no idea. But obviously, he favored cardio over weight gain...

I think it must be a morphological luck to be so thin when you are so tall. I could be wrong, but in the previous players with injuries, I have the impression of seeing big guys with a robust body type (Yao was robust, his legs were massive, just like the Chinese center playing at the Seattle Storm). To that, you add the fact that Victor is an athlete and has always taken care of his coordination and flexibility, and you have an individual far from the examples of these bigs with injuries.

Listening to some people, we sometimes have the impression that the ideal athlete would be Greg Oden. Well no. Victor needs to add muscle density, not muscle volume. And the example of KD shows that a player can evolve perfectly without imposing his physique like Giannis. Duncan wasn't particularly muscular, for example. Recently, Draymond Green mentioned Diaw as one of the most difficult player to defend, precisely because he refused to play in a power battle. Duncan did the same, they are eels, not dung beetles.

There is still this unknown about his height, but he is precisely at the age at which he should stop growing. We already knew last year that there were doubts about his real size, maybe he didn't catch any cm this year. And we will know very quickly.

On the other hand, he will naturally gain weight as he gains muscle density and age. Completely useless in the upper body in my opinion, since he seems to already have sufficient muscle density there (much more than KD). He-Man fans all want to see Giannis or Tatum in future Wemby, but it seems to me much more useful for Victor, if he needs to gain a little weight, to take it on the legs and hips. It doesn't take much, it won't necessarily be spectacular, but his opponents will be able to feel that. And if he doesn't get stronger, instead of being Usain Bolt, he will be KD (and being the second will certainly ensure fewer injuries...).

Before possibly playing this summer, Victor must certainly be working on these aspects in addition to flexibility. I'm pretty excited to see if his opponents feel a difference (and confirm that he has stopped growing). I could ramble on until he returns. I stop growing this post...

good post, I'm with you on this one.. I must confess this apparent continuous growth is worrisome at his age, he is the definition of an alien. I would feel actually better if he play with France for the Euro

This has long been my concern (based on nothing other than fear, to be honest. I have no background or expertise in this area so I'm completely just talking out of my ass based on fear)... does this dude have some weird never-before-seen condition where he just keeps growing forever like some alien spider human? At some point, this presents exponentially increasing health risks we would think... right? I just want our man to stop growing!

I've seen zero hard evidence that Wemby is still growing. As far as I'm concerned it's all clickbait until proven otherwise. He's always seemed to be taller than his listed height (at least relative to other players and their listed heights), but as far as I know there's no proof he's gotten substantially taller since his rookie season.

Agreed. This all working off of one data point (shaky, at best) and a bunch of speculation. Did anyone really buy that he was only 7’3”? I guess so

I’m not that worried about it. Nothing about him is really natural, but guys can and do grow until they are 25. DRob grew 6” after the age that Wemby is now. I’m guessing he’ll be fine since he really manages his body and fitness well. He just needs to keep doing his über stretching and alien yoga .
