When it came time to take the game, Ginobili, in his second game of the season, made the plays to put the Spurs over the top.

Hey everyone, new here but I've been a long time lurker for a couple of years. Anyhow, went to the game tonight. Manu and Hill were incredible! Everyone in my section went crazy when he had that sick pass!

    Spurs run past the Bulls
    By Jeff McDonald

Manu Ginobili bounced off a screen early in the Spurs' 98-88 victory over Chicago on Wednesday, saw his friend and countryman Fabricio Oberto rolling open to the basket, and unleashed a bounce pass he had thrown approximately 6 billion times before.

The ball skipped directly to the Bulls' Drew Gooden. Turnover.

On his way back from ankle surgery, Ginobili figured there would be moments like this.

Later in the game, Ginobili squirmed along the baseline, playing tightrope with the out-of-bounds line, before somehow contorting to the other side of the rim, completing a reverse layup past Aaron Gray.

With Ginobili back in the fray, the Spurs knew there would be moments like this, too.

Making his AT&T Center debut after missing the first 12 games of the season, Ginobili scored 15 points, providing the second-half spark as the Spurs (8-6) came away with their sixth victory in seven games.

Ben Gordon had 23 points to lead the Bulls (7-9).

Tim Duncan scored 18 of his team-high 21 points in the first half, making the plays to help the Spurs overcome a sloppy start. When it came time to take the game, Ginobili, in his second game of the season, made the plays to put the Spurs over the top.

Not long after his twisting reverse past Gray, he split defenders and raced past Gray for another layup (Side note: Estimates of how many of the Spurs' points Wednesday were finished with Gray flailing helpless nearby will start conservatively at 50.)

Moments later, Ginobili, appearing cornered on a drive left, but hooked a line-drive pass to Ime Udoka in the corner. Udoka, who seconds earlier had made his first 3-pointer since Nov. 11 to tie game at 69, buried another try to put Spurs ahead by three.

    They wouldn't trail again.

Did he really just not mention Hill's name... did he really just do that.

I'm thinking that maybe there will be a piece just on Hill. I'm watching it.

Just got through watching it(DVR). I haven't been through the whole game thread but I am sure most of the posts all say one thing in different ways...Hill is the best thing to come to this back court since drafting Manu and Tony. Teams are not going to get any rest with him and Tony running the point. I would venture to say that our back court is so deep that we might even be able to survive without another big.

The game itself was ugly early then got better on both sides of the ball as we ratcheted up the defense. It was a vintage Spurs lock down in the 4th quarter. Over the first 8:45 of the 4th the Bulls only scored FOUR points. Meanwhile Hill was tormenting them on the other end.

There is not doubt about it...I am more excited Spurs basketball then I have been in a long time. I can't remember a time when I was so excited on game day...for every single game. In a year where we were supposed to be headed down we are looking as solid as ever. 8-6 and gaining momentum.......RECOGNIZE.

Every W without the big 3 healthy is a good win. Saying that, Bulls bigmen are damn horrible.
I'm also quite sad to see Nocioni playing like that. I really like him and I wanted that he signs with Spurs last summer. I don't know what excatly happens with him but he is the shadow of what he was two years ago.

Yeah Nocioni has really fallen off for some reason.

The big contract might have him pulling a Rose.
