Blair is like Manu in terms of production. He's doing a lot with a little. I'm so excited to see the Spurs' 2nd unit!
We haven't really seen Ginobili and Blair on the court together. Hope they can co-exist on the court.

I think they were getting a look at Haislip and Ian. It wouldn't surprise if Blair was going to get the night off until Ian got in foul trouble.

Quick questions if anybody can answer, I havn't been able to follow the game.

    1. Can we assume the roster has been set since Marcus hasn't seen the floor tonight?
You know what happens when people assume..

    2. Why so little playing time for Blair tonight?
Tim needed to get some minutes and it looks like they wanted them to be with some of the vets they expect him to play with the most. Basically it was more of the 'knowns' in the first and the young fella's in the second.

They know what they have with Blair, so they probably wanted to give Ian and maybe even Haislip the majority of the minutes in the second; Ian's foul-trouble probably got Blair in the game before, or even if, they were looking to play him.

    3. How many people have jumped off a bridge already because Bonner and Finley started the game?
More than should, but not any more than we've grown to expect.

    4. How can Ian have 5 fould in 7 minutes, Timmy have 4, and Shaq only have 1? Is it the refs? Do they not know how to officiate Shaq, or does it not even have anything to do with Shaq and our guys are just playing sloppy?
It's the preseason and they've got replacement refs. Combine that with a couple of vets that aren't exactly playing with their normal focus and energy, and a foul-prone, young, big like Ian..

And this is the type of result you get.

Who are they supposed to look at? Matt Bonner?
In a way...yes. Pop said that they are going to start getting the rotation players ready for the season.

If you don't remember, how can you comment? Even if he did say that, why would you expect him to be correct and not know that it would take time?

He is a young, athletic big trying to figure things out. Correcting a foul problem takes time, regardless of what he said. It was not as if he was bragging saying he figured everything out. He said he was studying and saw some stuff where he could adjust (paraphrasing of course).
Ofcousre I can comment, I remember his general message. I must admit it's frustrating to see Ian pick up that many fouls that quickly game after game. Perhaps hes 1 or 2 years away from contributing to this team or he just doesn't have the mental aspect of the game. I'm sure his athleticism and size is worth keeping around for now, but I am no longer as optimistic as I was before.

Between Manu's court-vision and passing and Blair's hands and screen-setting..

They're going to be a load once they get a chemistry going.

Haha yea.... I was gonna erase that, cause as soon as I posted it, him and DeJuan both came into the game. Good to see, I love watching those guys play.

and yea, I figured it was probably a combination of all of the above on the foul thing

    Thanks

I'm glad Manu had a rest. Really didn't need RJ or Manu tonight. It was a lot of scrub time as well. Good time to check out the young players. Did the Spurs cut Jerrells already?

Yea..this seemed like another evaluation game. Perhaps giving Haislip or even Blair a little more playing especially over Bonner. We know Bonners role and what he can bring but Haislip we aren't so sure.
