    fackin Fernando Rodney....
    facking Izturis....

good news is our rookie pitcher looked real good. I guess ill be happy with taking 1 game from the yanks.
Had high hopes for FRod when he joined the Angels.
His 18-4 and 12-2 hold/blown save ratio with '06 and '07 Tigers was very good.
Maybe he is another steroid casualty.
2/1 hold/blown ratio with Angels ain't cuttin it.
We're used to winning series vs Skankee.

Props to the Texas Bubbas for taking out Yankee from last years playoffs. Do it a few more times and win a World Series and you'll begin to breathe the same air.

Texas Bubbas getting their ass run 4-1 in the series is better then making the playoffs 8 of 9 years and beating Steroids Bonds when it counted. Right?? Anyone?? Please?? Anyone??
    There there Axie.

    Easy win

I had to take a nap between getting home from work and the first pitch, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make it through this game. I already hate west coast games, but 9pm starts on a Friday is a double whammy. By the end of the week, I wanna sleep for about a day and a half.

Looking forward to a day game tomorrow. 3pm will be about the time I wake up. Perfect.

Great game..offense was on...defense was on. This is the Rangers I want to see in the playoffs.

Most likely we're gonna start tomorrow's game up 1.5 like we did tonight. Weaver comes back from his suspension and the Angels play at noon. And Weaver is even better during the day than at night. About as close to an automatic win as you can probably get.

I think Weaver's ejection vs Verlander is what lost him his. Verlander is due for a ty performance too. If their numbers remain this similar for the rest of the season people will remember their head to head matchup and Weaver's meltdown.

Pretty funny how the Rangers were getting no-hit in the 6th inning and still ended up getting 11 hits and winning in a blowout. Colby Lewis was solid.

Just a little comparison to what the Rangers were doing at this time last season. Through 120 games:

    2010: 67-53 (39-23 home; 28-30 away)
    2011: 68-52 (39-23 home; 29-29 away)

So we are almost exactly on last year's pace. Our run differential is better now than at this point last season too.

    2010: 591 scored, 506 allowed (+85)
    2011: 615 scored, 502 allowed (+113)

More runs scored, and fewer given up. The only big difference is the smaller division lead, obviously. The Angels are four games better than at this point last year, when we had a 7 game lead.

I'd definitely say the Rangers are a better team all around than they were last year. About the only thing lacking is Cliff Lee, but instead they have two very good pitchers in Ogando and Harrison, as opposed to a shutdown guy in Lee, and an inconsistent bum in Hunter. CJ and Colby both have another year under their belt as well as playoff experience. Plus the bullpen is 100000000x better.

Offense is improved as well, Young is having a career year, Kinsler is actually showing some patience at the plate, and Torrealba/Napoli > Molina/Guerrero. Oh, and of course, Beltre is going to be a great addition for the playoff run as well, in both his defense, and his ability to come through with clutch hits. Dude was an RBI machine prior to getting hurt.

If they stay healthy, they should be able to make another strong run through the postseason. Honestly, no teams in the AL scares me. About the only team in the league I wouldn't feel comfortable against is Philly, but that's probably everyone who feels that way.

But all that's going to do is make us more prepared for a tougher run in the playoffs. I really think we have a chance to get back to the WS again.

Edwin Encarnacion walk-off single! Jays win 5-4.

Let's sweep the A's and push the lead to 4 games.

Kinsler pisses me off sometimes. He is the anti-Hamilton when it comes to hustle. Case in point: Kinsler hits a high fly ball with runners on 1st and 2nd and two outs. It should be an easy play for the right fielder, but he drops it and the runners score. Obviously, with two outs, the runners are running all the way. With less than two outs, they don't score and the bases are loaded. But what does Kinsler do? He puts his head down and jogs down the line waiting for it to be caught. Kinsler should have gotten to 2nd base EASILY since it was dropped. You never assume a ball will be caught. Kinsler annoys me how he jogs so nonchalantly. If you put the ball in play with two outs, you should be running at full speed until the out is made. No excuses. I wish Washington would bench him for the remainder of the game for that.

oh, and now there's a routine inning-ending grounder that goes between Kinsler's legs to allow two un-earned runs to score. WTG Kinsler.
