I can relate to the "family matters."
That's hilarious.
I was thinking the same thing....the weekend before last when it rained really hard my patio sprung a new leak. I was inspecting the old oak trees out back last night to see if one might reach it.
....so I can get User ready with his 4WD & some tow chains when the wind hits.![]()

Some modest growth and this will be as big as Katrina.
I thought it was already?
Hey Travis, the NAM has made a drastic turn to the north since the last run.
Early run:
And the current run:

She's neither as strong nor as big as Katrina quite yet.
I guess they were over hyping it on CNN right now.
I have this one tree branch that just slighly hangs over my fence into my neighbor's yard. I think I'll have my husband cut that down. Don't need that to go crashing through their window and have MY insurance pay for it!![]()

When the San Antonio looting starts, I'm heading for Circuit City.![]()
Isn't it scary that we fear these storms like they have a mind of their own? It's almost as if the hurricane sees the Texas coastline and turns looking for a populated area to destroy whatever is in its path.
That's ed up!!! I'm gonna take Dons and Bens!!!
I would rather hit up Best Buy. I would take all the games, consoles, blank media, and graphics cards I could. I would also take as many I-Pods and stereo systems as possible. Screw tvs.
god that would almost be a blessing! my MIL is getting all over my last nerve lately.. and now we'e gonna have her here?? in the same space as my MOM???
now . please.

NEW: Rita to bring only a little rain and some gusty winds to S.A.

Hurricane Rita shouldn't bring more than a bit of rain and some gusty winds to the Alamo City Saturday if it keeps on its present path, according to a National Weather Service meteorologist.
The storm is expected to make landfall in Texas near Port Lavaca early Saturday morning as a Category 4. The projected path should mean 4 inches to 8 inches of rain for Williamson County and 3 inches to 6 inches for Travis County, but probably no more than 1 inch for Bexar County, said meteorologist Cristy Mitc of the National Weather Service New Braunfels office.
Rita is expected to take a sharp turn north shortly after making landfall in Texas. If the storm works its way another 50 miles or so west before making that turn, Bexar County could see 3 inches to 5 inches of rain, Mitc added.
“Typically the east side of the hurricane has the highest rainfall amount, and since we're still going to be to the west of the center that puts us into the lower category,” she said. “Just looking at the spin of the hurricane, our winds will be from the northeast and the northwest, where everyone east of the center will be getting south and southeast winds that are pulling water from the gulf.”
Bexar County residents should see sustained winds up to 40 mph, with gusts of 50 mph Saturday, Mitc said. By sunset, the winds should die down to 20 mph or less.

If its over the property line it is actually their responsibility. But the nice neighborly thing to do would be to have your husband cut it down.
Rita is now officially a Cat5. Someone pass the vaseline.
Here is a stick to go with the vaseline.
Well, the NAM has thrown me through a damn loop. It sends the storm more northly (as it is doing right now) but then shoots the damn thing harder to the west. The NWS needs faster computers so that these model runs go faster.
They need someone to write some distributed computing stuff like the SETI@home software. The NWS needs faster computers so that these model runs go faster.

Well, damn. I'm returning my candles and water![]()
We're on the dry side with that track. If this NAM track verifies though...
