As much as I hate to say it, now more than ever Kobe and Tim's careers will be linked.
10 championships. 5 playoff showdowns (not counting 2013 since Kobe didn't play) split 3-2. 3 MVPs. 5 Finals MVPs. 33 All-star appearances.
Two very different retirements in 2016.
Both legends.
End of an era indeed.

Wilbon wtf man "entertainment value" lol foh
I never liked Wilbon tbh ...
But hey Like I said Duncan gets the edge.
Y'all just need to stop acting like there is a huge gulf between them ...when it's more like a river ...
Disgusting. Imo one was toxic to their culture while the other cemented a culture that was already in place.
I was always hoping TD could make it one more year so he'd not have to share a HoF with Kobe but guess that's the way it is. To give Kobe some credit (ugh) he's been very complimentary of Duncan.
Put Kobe on the Spurs and he bails after a year.![]()
Either way plenty on Twitter ESPN all have tim over Kobe.
Espn rank also made the same choice.
Why wouldnt he?
Game recognize game.
Lot's of great players have spoken on his behalf today.
It's a wider river than you think.
Hard to express what Duncan has meant, especially on a hole like ST, which ironically mainly exists because of himbut
Thank you.
Thanks for the props from a mortal enemy.

#ThankYouTD I Wish I Could Of Got The Chance To Play With You But You Hanging Them Up, What A Great Career!!! #Respect21
I had a Spurs hat on today while shopping at HEB. I saw a fellow in a Spurs shirt. We nodded at each other with a knowing sadness and continued on.
Thanks for everything, Tim. I hope we get to see you post-career as a coach or, at least, as a prominent figure in the organization.
LOL Tim Calishaw said he MAYBE top 10 player of all time lol. Frank Isola FINALLY said what I've said for a long time now and that's that Duncan, while not the singular greatest player of all time he is the best franchise player/centerpiece of all-time!
To call Tim Duncan the greatest of all time does not even begin to describe his overall influence on the game. Not only has he dominated the game with his abilities, but his selflessness, humility and sense of humour has provided the San Antonio Spurs with the blueprint for recruiting talents that fit into a team performing consistently at the highest levels. He was the ultimate compe or. The ultimate team mate. The foundation. The franchise. Tim Duncan's legacy will endure long after all the accolades have faded.
"Could of"
Oh , we got a dumb-dumb on our hands.![]()
some rivers are pretty big ...
but the point still stands.
But you're clearly in de-Nile
