All the match ups changed when KL went down. It just made it next to impossible to guard KD. Then shifted weaker defenders onto strong players. There was no magic here. Duncan and TP were not coming back to save the day. Lets be happy this team has a positive future and not a lottery team
Spurs are fighting and not giving up. I still believe had Kawhi not gotten injured they would have beaten this team.

I am honestly shocked at this Manu starting thing. I truly thought with Manu being fully healthy this year that he would come back. I am fully flipped around now thinking this was it. Damn.
I think it was preemptive. There was always a chance he would retire and Pop wanted to honor him if he does. I honestly think Manu is undecided and will think long and hard about it for a couple of weeks.

You have to understand that its a total change for Pop to not have what he had forever. There is a lot of youth and change going on here. TD needed to be here one more year to mentor some of these guys. i dont think Parker is that guy.

At least GSW showed how to abuse someone on the post. Lol Patty on Livingston.

Btw, TP would've also been abused.
True but TP would bring some offense to the table. Patty is shooting around 20% for the series.

Makes a lot of sense... he was probably our best player this series once Kawhi went down... Pop wanted some punch/energy early...

    Need more than that though...
I don't think it made sense at all from an in-game perspective. But it does in giving Manu his moment which he has earned. Especially with the series being over no matter what.

Well I keep telling you guys about not re-signing Mills for any price. His defense sucks, which won't change due to his lack of size, and he's an undersized shooting guard that has a playoff average of about 4 ppg. I don't want him back at any price.

Patty said he was upset with his performance last season in the playoffs against OKC, well guess what Patty, you've the bed yet again.

He's not a playoff player. You don't pay anything other than the bare minimum for those type of players. Gary Neal who I was a huge fan of until his putrid defense in game 6 and 7 of the finals was a superior playoff player to Mills. You DO NOT pay players like Mills anymore than the minimum if you're a team looking to compete for Championships. You let him move on to a scrub team that will pay him. I hope someone is willing to pay him, cause I don't want him back, maybe not even for his current contract. A fat lazy Diaw would have been better at PG than this. I would have rather have run Diaw at point forward over Mills at PG if Diaw was still on the team.
To be fair Patty is playing on a bargain deal... he'll probably gonna get paid this summer, hopefully not by the Spurs...

In what sense? We're miles away from this Dubs team, tbh... if Manu retires, even more so...
You mean miles away without Kawhichael, right?

It would have been interesting that is for sure. Beat them? I don`t know about that, GSW is very very good. But we will never know. What could have been a great series is left to be what could have been. Instead we get KD joining the team that beat him, like a little , in the finals...

    Mills what a piece of
Cojo man, SUPERIOR PLAYER. SUPERIOR PLAYER. Why couldn't the Spurs find a way to keep him. He's a steal at his current salary, and people wanted to pay Mills 9 million more per year than what Cojo is currently getting. I don't give a about what the market it and what other teams are doing wasting money. The Spurs can't be re ed any pay players like Mills and Gasol $15 million per year when you can get guys from the d-league for the minimum to provide as much as they do. Let other teams throw away that money.

Even Simmons, can't be silly and pay him big money. Sure he competed, but he's not worth breaking the bank over. He's still got limitations.

I'm old school and would love to see them take out one of the warriors but that's not going to happen. That's just not the current NBA. I guarantee you that if the Spurs retaliated there would be a 20-30 game suspension for the player who took out Curry,Kevin or Klay. There is nobody out there whose going to risk that. I would punch out Kevin right now if I could but that's not how guys are wired today. This is a punk league.
But taking Leonard out was an old-school, street play. Doesn't make it right, but that's what it was.
And the game is still played on that level.
Spurs players know that no one has their back when it gets physical, and it shows.
Just a bunch of individuals out there in the Silver & Black.

Even with Kawhi, I didn't think we had enough, tbh... Kawhi is really good, probably the best player this series, but we have a lot of holes against this team, starting with the supposed 'big' superiority that doesn't exist...

Changed all of the Dubs' defensive assignments, too, making them all easier and giving them that much more energy on the offensive end.

KD is soft mentally. He would have melted against Kawhi much like he has against Lebron. I firmly believe that.

What I'm saying is I think this is telling. Like how Tim said he didn't know but with how he walked off vs OKC..

He will be back. 1 more. Too compe ive to go out with injuries being the reason for elimination. Would be different if he got beat in the memphis series. Hes obviously the best spur behind leonard.

I'd rather see Mills sign somewhere else. Short-ass defensively-challenged guards like Microwave and Pork have been rendered useless by the Warriors.

to be honest Lebron and Murray are pretty tight. He's probably just gonna have Pop develop Murray and then Lebron gonna coerce him into joining the Cavs. Also WTF Golden State doesn't miss.
Are they tight? I think Dejounte has signed with Lebron's agency. Has Lebron said anything about Dejounte's game?

If Fathead works on his shot, he could be solid rotation player next year on the cheap...He's been quietly putting a string of good games this postseason..
