Dear FOIA Officer:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. It is my understanding based upon press releases that the FBI took all digital materials found in the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Hotel shooting on or about October 1, 2017 wherein it is reported that Stephen Craig Paddock had video cameras in his room and left a “manifesto” and/or other handwritten do ents. It has been reported that Mr. Paddock is deceased. Because this material is greatly in the public interest, I hereby request that the FBI make available within twenty days of this request, all copies of video, audio, notes, do ents and photographs taken from the room at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Hotel. I also request within the FOIA that an inventory of all firearms located in the room, to include make, model and serial numbers and copies of the ATF trace data, if in possession of the FBI, to be produced within the statutory time frame allowed to respond to FOIAs.
I am willing to pay up to $200 for the processing of this request. Please inform me if the estimated fees will exceed this limit before processing this request. I also request a fee waiver as these materials are greatly in the public interest because the public has a right to know what happened and why and these materials will be distributed to news outlets and made available on the internet for no charge.
If for whatever reason, any part of this request is unavailable or not able to be produced at this time due to claims of “ongoing investigation,” I request that any segregrable do ents that can be produced, be produced within twenty days.

There have been reports, though not really confirmed, that he was actually a wealthy man, perhaps a real investor. He wired his girlfriend $100,000 a week ago.
He also reportedly rented a series of condos over another outdoor concert that he had apparently considered attacking before choosing this country music concert.
Those certainly suggest a decent amount of liquid assets, though if you knew you were about to end your life a middle-class person could likely sell things and come up with that amount of cash.
“He liked to bet big, wagering tens of thousands of dollars in a sitting.
He owned homes in four states but preferred staying in casino hotels, sometimes for weeks at a time, as he worked the gambling machines.”
seems to suggest he hadn’t been employed in almost thirty years.
According to this timeline, he worked for the post office from 1976 to 1978. He graduated college in 1977.
He worked as an IRS agent from 1978 to 1984.
He then worked for a defense auditing job for a year and a half.
The AP also says he “worked for a defense contractor in the late 1980s.”
family members say he was worth more than $2 million, that “he made a small fortune from real estate deals and a business that he and Eric Paddock sold off.”
a gambling habit that seems hard to reconcile with being worth just two million dollars.
He also had multiple residential properties around the country.
There’s apparently huge amounts of travel.
As I said, this probably doesn’t have an immediate connection to the crime.
And regardless of what Paddock did or how he got his money, it won’t bring anyone back to life.
But something pretty substantial seems missing from this story.
