You might be singing a different tune if the US got one of the top 8 seeds in the world cup. Instead Mexico got it; a team that the US beat in qualifying and are ahead of in the rankings. Rankings don't mean but if Fifa has it, they should use it.
Mexico's group - Portugal, Angola, Iran. Big difference with US' group.
Yes, US is not quite up there with half of the European teams. They need to get some attackers in the game. Johnson and Dempsey should see time to even stand a chance.
Losing Koller means less chance of another goal. If you know anything about Czech football you know that their offense is twice as deadly with Koller than without him. His talent for header's is unparalelled in the team.

but that doesnt garunsheed you a win every game, in soccer there are upsets and most games either end up a draw. look at australia for example, brasil/croatia/japan all have higher rankings then australia, and no one would even think australia to pull an upset.
