Hack a shaq should be abandoned till the 4th quarter near the end.

    Hes makin em now.

Tony freakin parker 19 points I think 6 assists.
Not necessarily. Pop is using it to break any momentum the swings towards Suns, and keeps the fans quiet and pissed.

This is the 1st time, I think, that Ive seen an opposing coach control when an opponent is in the game. D'Antoni loves the momentum game and takes shaq out.

Whoever was saying they wished the Dal-NO refs were calling this game: Mavs got nearly a 3:1 FTA advantage at home (38-13) tonight. Don't think you want those guys calling this game.

Word to Stephen A smith: if I go to a Spurs game I want to see them win.

Now, if the Spurs turn in another defensive gem like the previous 3rd qtr, Suns crushed, snuffed out, series over.

I can't believe they're advocating changing the rules so there's no more hack-a-Shaq. If you make your FT - then people won't foul you - it's just that simple!

damn..I just missed that last part of the 2nd cuz of a work call

I coulda swore I was gonna come back to us being down or with a small lead

damn..I gotta read back some to see what happened

This is scary to me, hopefully we don't get the same 27-11 treatment we gave them last game in the 3rd

    pleeeeeeeeeeease no!

Yeah but, if hes making his FTs, then you have to wonder, couldn't my defense get a stop and get a board instead of giving up 2?

I agree though the use of it has been awesome tonight.

    Lindsey lookin good so far.

Another positive result of Hack-a-Snaq is that the Spurs get to rest a little between offensive posessions, and basically have a timeout.

hack a shaq is awesome - there's no question about it - jalen is right, if you cant hit FTs you cant play bb. not hitting the FTs in professional basketball is equal to sucking big time and you are a liability.

Would be very tough to do, I don't think it will happen,

but if they came out with that same smothering defense, and hit some open shots, the Suns are toast done stick a fork in em.

    I had the same thought.

And it messes with Shaq's head for the entire game so is a slick strategy.

When Shaq makes them though thats when he starts going, so its a fine line you walk.

It's not like Pop calls for Hack-A-Shaq continuously...

Only when the Spurs are behind, ahead, or tied.

The Spurs just need to come out like they started. Bring the intensity and energy, but most of all, bring the tough defense. We can afford to miss as long as our defense is stopping Phoenix.

if he makes all the FTs it's still ok - the fact you break their rhythm is what's important. Against this team that like to run that's golden.

I love the hack-a-snack. People can piss and moan about it all they want. If he made his throws, Pop wouldn't be calling for it.

    Simple.
